Welcome to hip Brooklyn community of Bedford-Stuyvesant! Now morphing into a hipster haven, this neighborhood was once home to such rags-to-riches rappers as Notorious B.I.G., Foxy Brown, and Jay-Z.
This fully-furnished alcove studio apartment for rent is located on the ground floor of a three-story prewar walk-up brownstone building. Tucked away on the residential New York City streets of MacDonough Street & Stuyvesant Avenue, it is placed in a row of brownstone housing (of which Bed-Stuy is famous for). To ensure privacy, a security system is in place. One private backyard and garden is included.
This 800sqft/74.3sqm alcove studio home is embellished with classic accessories. Parquet hardwood flooring line the base.
In the living room, a chandelier hangs from the ceiling and illuminates the space. One sofa, one full-sized futon, and various chairs accommodate ample seating. Attached to one wall, a decorative fireplace adds personality and warmth to the classic room. One cable television and two windows are included.
A sleeping alcove offers one twin-sized bed and a door separating it from the main living space. This provides more privacy than an average studio apartment. However, there is no window in this room.
The eclectic and separate eat-in kitchen has a more youthful vibe than the rest of the home. Here, bright yellow walls surround the space and cooking appliances hang from every corner. One large dining table with four chairs accommodates meal and work space. A tiled bathroom includes a mirror, shower, and fresh towels.
The private backyard is furnished with outdoor seating, tables, and well-kept greenery. It presents a welcome escape from the hustle-and-bustle of New York, and its large size allows for easy guest accommodation.
Bedford-Stuyvesant is surrounded by the already-gentrified Brooklyn communities of Williamsburg, Clinton Hill, Bushwick, and Crown Heights. Its location is conveniently close to Manhattan, and it offers a variety of mom and pop shops, restaurants, and bars to discover. Below are just some suggestions of what to do during your stay:
For public transportation around Brooklyn and into Manhattan, take the A or C trains at Utica Avenue and Fulton Street (0.3mi/400m).

The owner was very nice and responsive. The location was good! The bedroom is on the major road side, so it is hard for those like me who have light sleep, not to be woken up many times at night.
