If you prefer the New American style, then head 2 blocks east to Vinegar Hill House or Rebar a block west; besides tasty meals, there you can also enjoy beer or a nice glass of wine. However just a few blocks away is the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the city's most popular destinations for enjoying the Manhattan Skyline. You can walk across this icon to reach downtown Manhattan, or you can simply admire it from the Brooklyn Bridge Park, a lovely grassy expanse that shows films in the summer.
For your transportation needs, catch the F train located at York Street / Jay Street about 4 blocks south, or the the A or C trains a bit further at High Street / Cadman Plaza East, both of which will take you to Manhattan in just one stop! there is also a Ferry that stops at the Brooklyn Bridge if you prefer to make your commute around NYC in the open air!
