LOCATION: New York City, Upper West Side-West 82nd Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue.
SIZE: One large bedroom, a study/library room, a large living room, a full kitchen/dining room, 2 bathrooms, 2 hallways-approximately 1,200 sq. feet.
BUILDING: The building is a ten-story building and dates from the1920s. It is located on a quiet tree lined street half a block from Central Park. The building is well maintained and security is excellent. Entry into the building is by key or, for visitors, through an intercom/video system.
INTERIOR: The apartment is on the ninth floor with a roof top view facing north. The owners who are former contemporary art museum directors have decorated this large airy apartment with original artworks. The walls are freshly painted in light colors with white woodwork and oak floors throughout. Storage is more than adequate, with built in closets in both hallways and bedroom. Air conditioning is available in the living room and bedroom. There are full laundry facilities in the basement. This is a completely self-contained apartment with its own entrance which is part of a larger apartment. Ideal for a mature person or a couple. No smoking or pets please.
The Living Room has two large and comfortable sofas, a large 42 inch HDTV plasma television with cable, DVD, and home cinema surround audio system.
The Spacious Master Bedroom with adjoining bathroom provides ample storage with two built in closets, a large chest of drawers and two side tables. There is a queen-size bed. Bed linens are provided. The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower plus a toilet and sink. Towels are provided.
The Second Bathroom has a bathtub with a shower plus a toilet and sink. Towels are provided.
The Study/Library/Computer Room has Broadband Internet access (computer not provided), fax and a Xerox copier, desks, a library and audio system.
Kitchen/Dining Room comes equipped with a gas stove and large refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, as well as a microwave oven, and all appliances including a bread maker toaster, juicer, blender, espresso coffee maker, etc.). Cookware, utensils and dinnerware for six are included. The dining table can be opened up to accommodate a dinner party for 8. The Kitchen has Stereo and a Phone.
NEIGHBORHOOD: This is in the heart of Manhattan's lively Upper West Side--one of the most prized residential areas in the city--which boasts a rich variety of restaurants, outdoor cafes, internationally famous food emporiums, numerous fine clothing stores and boutiques as well as two multiplex cinemas. It is within walking distance of many major New York cultural institutions, including, the American Museum of Natural History, The Hayden Planetarium, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum of Art, and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
Halfway up the street is Central Park which consists of several hundred acres of parklands, lakes, trees, and open meadows for sports, an outdoor theatre for attending plays in the summer and an outdoor rink for ice skating in the winter. Just one block away is the IND subway station. Various bus lines will get you anywhere in the city very quickly.
