Great restaurants, a shopping strip, historic districts with unique garden housing and - perhaps most importantly - a quick and direct train ride to Manhattan, are reasons why you should consider the neighborhood of Jackson Heights in the northwestern section of Queens for your stay in New York. The room for rent is a sleeping alcove located in a one bedroom apartment share, on the 1st floor (considered ground floor by Europeans) of a 6-story building with elevator and security system.
The compact sleeping alcove (living room 2 on floorplan) is furnished with a single bed, a wardrobe and dresser for storage and has two eastern exposed windows overlooking the street. Please note that it is separated from the living room by sliding doors and that the wall between the two rooms does not go all the way to the ceiling, which can result to limited privacy.
The living area (living room 1), kitchen and bathroom are shared with your roommates. The living room offers a comfortable setting to relax and watch TV, with two sofas, a large TV with cable and DVD player. There is also a dining table to enjoy your home cooked meals. The kitchen is separate and fully equipped with all the necessities, including microwave, coffee maker and toaster. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower and the convenience of a window.
This one bedroom apartment is located at 37th Avenue & 87th Street in Jackson Heights, Queens. This neighborhood is home to a diverse population of New Yorkers, resulting in a great variety of restaurant and entertainment options! and with the 7 train just over 3 blocks from the apartment (about 600m), you can be in Midtown Manhattan whenever you need to be! If you take the time to discover your surroundings, you will find:

I had an exemplary roommate. She was always willing to accommodate my needs and made me feel as much and invited guest as a roommate. While NYC apartments are not known for being spacious, there was never a problem coordinating our schedules and time in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. |

My roommates were very welcoming, friendly and nice. I had my own space. They would often invite me to participate in activities with them, I did not get bored. I had a wonderful time with amazing people. Thanks a lot!! |
