This luxurious two bedroom / one bathroom apartment with a terrace is located on the 7th floor of a high-rise building with a full time doorman and laundry facilities. The tenant travels much during the week so it is like having your own private Manhattan apartment. The apartment, quiet and located in the back of the 14-story building, with 12 foot ceilings, has beige wall to wall carpet and faux painted custom colored walls and is decorated with modern and antique pieces of furniture and artifacts.
When you enter the apartment you can see the living room, which has an 18,500 BTU air-conditioning window unit. It is furnished with a large white leather sectional sofa, two antique chairs, a blue colored carpet, a glass lounge table, a grand piano with a bench, an antique chest, several lamps, and some framed pictures, and beautiful art. There is a sliding door that leads to a terrace.
The dining area is situated in the same room as the living room. It is furnished with a rectangular glass table, four modern armchairs, and a large dresser with a mirror at the top.
The kitchen is equipped with a sink, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, toaster, a large marble counter and white kitchen cabinets.
The bedroom to rent is at the entrance of the apartment, on the left side. This room is furnished with an innerspring mattress sofa bed, two bedside tables with lamps, a coffee table with a glass top, a double hung closet, an antique dresser, a sink with a mirror at the top, a TV with cable, bookshelves, and a lot of framed pictures and paintings.
The entire apartment has no adjoining walls to others on the floor and being located in the back of the building is comparatively quiet. The room for rent being fully furnished is the perfect solution for one who just needs to bring nothing but their own clothes.
The tenant, who travels most days of the week, and the roommate have a private entrance to the bathroom to share. The beige tiled bathroom has a shower with a bathtub, a sink with a mirrored medicine cabinet at the top, a storage cabinet, and a toilet.
Transportation: 6 train on 28th Street and Park Avenue, 2 stops from Union Square and transportation hub, Grand Central Station for other subway connections and Metro North suburban commuter trains. Frequent downtown bus lines going down Lexington Avenue in front of the building with uptown service 1 block away going uptown on Third Ave. Taxis are always outside as local taxi drivers take their breaks in the neighborhood because of the many restaurants.
This is a lovely neighborhood with Old World charm, many little shops, all types of restaurants, 3 different grocery store chains located within 2 blocks, (Dagastinos, Gristedes and Food Emporium) and a bit of quiet in the big, noisy city. Walk along Irving Place and you will see several restaurants. A few blocks to the south is Gramercy Park, the only privately owned park in New York City. Nearby office buildings are Credit Suisse, New York Life, Metropolitan Life which are 4 to 6 minutes walking time. It is also very convenient for interns who are finishing up at NYU, Bellevue and Veterans Hospital as well as NYU Dental School. All are easily walk able being just 6 to 8 minutes away. And, just to the southwest and 10 blocks downtown is
Union Square where farmers come 4 times a week all thru the year to sell fresh produce, flowers and baked goods
