This listing is on the Upper West Side of Manhattan right across the street from Central Park. The apartment is on the 15th floor of a prewar building with a full time, elevator doorman, and storage room and laundry facilities.
The apartment is 1000 square feet and has white walls, hardwood floors, and many windows with wonderful views of Manhattan.
You enter the apartment through the living room. It has two windows and a nice non-working fireplace. It is furnished with a sofa, a rocking chair, two armchairs, two pianos, a large china storage cabinet, a couple of storage cabinets, a dresser, a lounge table, a drop-leaf dining table, a couple of bookcases, many framed pictures, a TV with cable, a VCR, a stereo and a stand. The open and separate Eat-in the kitchen has a window, a sink, a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a toaster, a dining table with four chairs, and many white storage cabinets. From the kitchen, a door leads to a walk-in pantry.
The bedrooms for rent are situated at the end of the corridor just next to the white tiled bathroom to share. The bathroom has a window, a sink, a mirrored medicine cabinet, a shower with bathtub, and a toilet.
Bedroom #1 is about 190 square feet; it has two windows facing a nice view of Manhattan, and a walk-in closet. There is a full bed, a bookcase/cabinet combination, a desk, two nightstands, a futon, a file cabinet, and two armoires. The room is cable-ready and, a ceiling fan can be added in the summer.
Bedroom #2 is currently used as a guest bedroom and storage room. It is about 180 square feet; it has two windows facing a nice view of Manhattan, and a mirrored walk-in closet. There is a padded, wicker chair; two floor lamps flank the queen-sized bed, there is a large blanket chest, a dresser, a bookcase, a small antique desk, shelves, a chair and a stereo. The room is cable-ready, shelving and, a ceiling fan can be added in the summer.
Most furniture in both these bedrooms is available for use in either room.
The Upper West Side is one of the most sought after residential areas in Manhattan due to its family atmosphere and an abundance of conveniences.
Central Park West is a luxurious area where you can find many beautiful doorman buildings, facing Central Park. On Broadway, you can find the famed Zabar’s specialty food store and the Fairway market, where New Yorkers love to shop for food. There is also a large Barnes and Noble bookstore, movie theaters, good restaurants and clothing stores along 86th street.
Transportation: One or nine train on 86th Street and Broadway. You can also take the B or C train on 86th Street and Central Park West. The cross-town bus runs on 86th Street and the 7, 10 and 11 buses on Columbus, Amsterdam and Central Park West also stop at 86th Street.
