In the winter the lake freezes over and you can ice-skate. The block where the apartment is located is charming with trees and a mixture of high buildings and brownstones. Restaraunts for all ethnicity, delis, and grocery stores nearby. The area is friendly, nice and residential.
The subway station is 1 block away on the 96th Street station for the B-C line, and 3 blocks away for the express 2-3 and local 1 on 96th Street and Broadway.
