Size: 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Approximately 700 square feet. Sleeps 3.
Building: Located on Manhattan's West Side, this apartment is located on the 19th floor of a 44-story luxury high-rise building and features 180 degree sweeping views of Manhattan's famed skyline. A doorman building with 24-hour concierge, the building also features a roof top health club containing swimming pool, steam, sauna, whirlpool, sun deck, locker rooms and exercise equipment. Health club is available to guests at an additional fee, payable by check to Strand Condominium.
Interior: Well lighted and spacious, this modern apartment features large windows throughout, sliding door with balcony, 9' ceilings with contemporary furnishings throughout. The newly installed kitchen features stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer with automatic icemaker, microwave oven, gas stove and oven with a pass through counter and bar stools. There's plenty of glassware, dishes, gourmet pots and pans available. The living room features mid-century modern furniture including a wool "lava' wool rug, ultra-suede blue couch, contemporary art and photography throughout. Both living room and bedroom feature digital cable television (living room with surround-sound) featuring hundreds of channels. DVD/VCR, plus apartment is wired for commercial satellite radio with hundreds of channels available. The bath features a shower & tub, toilet with marble floors, walls and countertop with plenty of fresh towels. There is closet space available as well as an Armoire with drawer space in the bedroom for use. The bedroom features a contemporary wood Italian queen-size bed with a comfortable mattress and plenty of pillows as well as a mirror. bed table and desk. An air mattress can be provided for a third person.
Neighborhood: Affectionately known in NY as "Hells' Kitchen" you are steps away from the New York City's famed Theater District/Broadway, the New 42nd Street and some of New York City's finest restaurants, night clubs and tourist attractions including the Battleship Intrepid Museum located on Hudson River Park just two blocks west. It's a 10-minute walk in to neighborhoods such as Chelsea, Fashion District, Times Square, Bryant Park/New York City Public Library, 5th Avenue and so much more. Entertainment abounds with countless restaurants, jazz clubs which showcase world class performers, coffee houses, movies, boutiques, Off-Broadway houses and public spaces. There's a supermarket across the street, plenty of 24 hour produce/convenience marts plus plenty of produce vendors, fresh fish and meat vendors on Manhattan's 9th Avenue, known for it's International Food Festivals. And, if you just don't feel like going out and want to stay in and enjoy the view, there's plenty of delivery services available including liquor and food almost anytime day or night.
Others: Public transportation is everywhere. Bus stops are located in front of the building with subway stations located on 8th Avenue and Times Square which reach every corner of the city with the A, E, C, 1, 2, 3, N, R, Q lines in addition to the Port Authority Bus Terminal and Grand Central Station (at 42nd Street and Lexington). Taxis are very easy to be hailed anytime day or night.
