We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. |
|
I was very pleased with my stay in New York City, which was at an apartment located for me by New York Habitat. Their website was easy to navigate. The NYHabitat staff responded very quickly to my inquiry, were very clear and organized, and were very effective in acting as a liaison between me and my landlord (vacation rental owner).
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. We were on the Upper West Side of NYC, a half block from Central Park. We were close to restaurants, shopping, museums, and public transportation. There was nothing we could have wanted that wasn't close by. The apartment itself was
terrific. This was a girlfriend getaway to NYC and there were three of us. The apartment was perfect for us, with a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms,
and two baths. And the piece de resistance... the roof garden. Not only did we have a great place to relax at the end of the day, but we had fresh herbs to put in our eggs in the morning! The apartment was clean. The linens were very soft. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were newly remodeled and lovely.
One of the best things about the apartment was our landlord. He asked to speak to me by phone before we even finalized my reservation to make sure I was aware of a couple of things, which I greatly appreciated. There are three flights of stairs to get to his apartment, and the apartment itself has a flight of stairs. For this reason, I can't recommend the apartment [to those] for whom this stair climbing is a drawback.
This was the first time I'd used NYHabitat, so this phone call made me feel comfortable about renting an apartment sight unseen.
The best part about [our landlord] was his hospitality. He met us on the street and even carried my hideously heavy bag upstairs (yes, I wore all the shoes I brought). He had three pages of information, including food recommendations, typed out for us. He showed us how each of his keys worked and where all the switches were. He gave us lots of info, a subway map, and the number for his car service for our trip to the airport at the end of our stay. He called while we were there to make sure we were getting on well and to make sure we didn't have any problems. He could not have been more kind and considerate.
I have rented a number of apartments or condos for vacations and believe it's the best way to stay, particularly if you're with a group of friends. This was an excellent experience, start to finish. I would definitely recommend this apartment and this agency to others. |
