Location: New York City Upper East Side, 88th street between 1st and York Avenues.
Size: Studio, Approximately 400 square feet + a sunroom about 100 sqf, has a private garden approximately 100 square feet.
Building: On the Upper East Side, this New York apartment is located on the ground floor of a five-story building. The studio faces south and is extremely quiet. The building dates from the 1880's and is located on 88th street. Security is good: front door is kept locked and entry is with your own key, or for visitors there is an intercom system. There is as coin-operated laundry in the basement.
Interior: Bright and airy studio, it has high ceilings and wood floors. Overall, the place has a comfortable relaxing atmosphere. It can sleep a couple with two children or two adult couples.
Modern comfort is everywhere. There is a queen-size loft bed which you climb a step ladder to access and a full-size sofa bed in the living area can accommodate children or another couple. Bed linens are provided. There is also a large closet, shelves for storage, and a color television with cable channels. They will be surrounded by white-washed walls hung with paintings and tapestries. There is a dining table for 4 under loft bed.
The kitchen is remodeled and comes equipped with a refrigerator/freezer and a stove/oven. Pots and pans as well as dinnerware are included.
The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower. Towels are provided.
There is a sunroom with a desk and chairs to seat comfortably in.
Neighborhood: A few steps away is the Carl Schurz Park where you have the mayor's Mansion and the ever busy 86th street two minutes walk away. The area is full of local food shops and ethnic restaurants. There are also many produce stores whose stalls of fresh fruits and vegetables attract local residents. Any guidebook will give you the history of this Upper East Side, a part of town, still called Yorkville, as one of the most quaint and interesting areas of Manhattan. As you walk towards Central Park (a 15-minute walk) you will encounter a variety of boutiques and museums, such as the Guggenheim. Entertainment is the name of the game in this part of time there are numerous restaurants, clubs, coffee-houses, movies, and boutiques ranging from antiques to the latest fashions.
Others: Public transportation is everywhere. Bus stops are less than 300 feet away. Subway stations for Lexington Avenue is 10-minutes walk away or there is a cross-town bus that will take you to the subway or to the Upper West Side. Taxis can be hailed anywhere at any time of day or night.
