One bedroom apartment near Bastille

Located between Rue Sedaine and Rue Bréguet, this 50m2 one bedroom duplex loft is just a few steps away from the Place de la Bastille area. This street is perpendicular to the live Rue de la Roquette mostly frequented by young people. The heart of this area is the historic Place de la Bastille and its new Opéra House considered as one of the best Operas in the world, inaugurated at the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. After a ten minute walk is Place des Vosges, known for its art galleries, antique shops and also for the famous French novelist Victor Hugo's residence at 6, Place des Vosges from 1832 to 1848. It is still possible to visit his apartment and the room where he wrote his novels (especially Les Misérables). In the neighborhood there are number of traditional restaurants, cafes, and open-air markets such as the one on Place d'Aligre, to be visited, and a second one on Rue Richard Lenoir. All other sorts of services are easily found in the neighborhood. The apartment is situated on the first and top floor of a small 20th century walk-up house. The main entrance gate is protected by an intercom. It has a southeast exposure, facing a courtyard, the walls are white painted and there is painted concrete floor. Windows have double-glazing. The entry door opens on a staircase leading to the living room and the open kitchen. On the mezzanine is the bedroom. The 33m2 living room has four windows with manual shutters and two large skylights. It is furnished with a two sofas (creating an angle at the corner of the room), a dining table, a built-in wall wardrobe, a sideboard, a cabled TV, a DVD player, a stereo and a phone (restricted to local calls). The open kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, a microwave, a cooker hood, four gas burners, a fridge with freezer, a toaster and a dishwasher. The 10m2 bedroom set up on the mezzanine has a (140cm-wide) bed, a desk, a small bookcase, a phone, and a computer with unlimited Internet access. The bathroom is tiled. It has a washbasin surmounted by a mirror and a bath with wall-mounted showerhead. The separate toilet has a washing machine with combined dryer. Heating and water heater are individual and electric. The nearest metro stations are Voltaire Line 9, Bréguet-Sabin Line 5 or Bastille (lines 1, 5, 8).
