We can give this apartment an unqualified recommendation as a good place to call home for an extended visit to Paris. |

We were very pleased with our apartment - PA-1862. The owner was easy to work with and available to us by phone or e-mail. The [caretakers] did not speak English but were friendly, and we managed to communicate on the few occasions it was necessary. The vacation rental is well furnished with furniture, linens, and dishes and cookware in the kitchen. There was plenty of cabinet space for our belongings. For an extended stay, as ours was, the washing machine/dryer combo was great for saving on the amount of clothing we needed to pack. The bed is comfortable! My husband is very sensitive to a good bed, and we were happy with it. Bonus items: there are some travel books to supplement whatever one brings, and some novels and other books in English. The apartment is a very comfortable place to be when not out exploring Paris. Outside the apartment, everything we needed was in close walking distance: two metro stations, a grocery store at the end of the block, bakeries, butcher shops, produce markets, cafes, and a wonderful park. The neighborhood is off the tourist path, so almost no one spoke English, but everyone was friendly and helpful. We always felt safe, even walking at night. People and tour books might not consider the apartment within walking distance of central Paris, but we walked to a number of the major sites. Having time and being willing to walk, we walked to the Tuileries/Place de Concorde and back for a day's outing, as an example. We can give this apartment an unqualified recommendation as a good place to call home for an extended visit to Paris. |
