Located between Bd. Beaumarchais and Place des Vosges,
Oldest square of Paris, the Royal Place des Vosges was originally named the Place Royale, which construction between 1605 and 1612 was decided by Henry IV the king. At the floor level, number of harmonious arcades surround the square, all made in red brick and stone facings. The center south and north gateways were respectively the kings and queens pavilions. Here lived many historical personalities such as the world famous novelist, Victor Hugo, at number 6 - now a museum - Maison de Victor Hugo. Many museums, art galleries, selected restaurants, and pleasant cafes are easily found in this area. In a 10 minutes walking distance is the Bastille Place, symbol of the French Republic, and in a short distance by metro, all other important points of interest.
An 18th century walk-up building having a security system is where is located this tastefully decorated 32m2 1 bedroom apartment, on the 2nd floor, northeast exposed and facing the street. Ceiling genuine exposed beams are shown to advantage by the white walls and choice of fixture colors. Besides, it has a wall-to-wall carpet, and curtains garnishing the French windows opening to a tiny balcony on the street side.
A genuine stones' wall enhance the cosy ambiance of the 20m2 living room decorated with a nice and comfortable140 cm double sofa bed, an antique square dining table and matching chairs, a dresser, a satellite TV set down on a cabinet, lamps, a stereo and a telephone.
Design open cabinets edge the open kitchen's space, equipped with two vitro ceramic burners, a multifunction oven (microwaves), a fridge, a combo washing-drying machine, a coffee maker, and a toaster. Below the brown ceramic sink there are cupboards and drawers containing the utensils.
To the left side of the living room, the 8m2 bedroom is furnished with a 160cm wide double bed with bedside cabinets and lamps, and cabinets above, a tiny corner for hanging clothes, and a French window garnished with pleasant curtains overlooking the street. At the bottom of the living room, to the right side, the off-white and mosaic tiled bathroom encloses a Jacuzzi bathtub with a wall-mounted showerhead, a washbasin with a mirror above and cabinet below, and toilet. The nearest metro stations are Bastille (line 1, 5, and 8), and Chemin Vert (line 8).
