Studio apartment in the Marais area
|
Neighborhood:
Located between Rue de Bretagne and Rue du Forez, this spacious studio has been recently refurbished. It is in a charming neighborhood with old buildings and hotels particuliers, between the Oberkampf area and the Marais with many trendy cafes, restaurants and shops. The neighborhood has lots of facilities and services and it overflows with art galleries and design shops, food shops and a bio (organic) market. In short walking distance are the Place de la Bastille, Place des Vosges, the Picasso Museum and the Place de la Republique.
Premises:
This 28m² (approx. 300 sq. ft.) studio apartment is located on fifth and top floor of an 18th century walk-up building. The entrance gate, protected by a coded security system, opens into a corridor leading to a courtyard and the staircase. There is a hall linking three apartments; it has a washing machine and a dryer.
The apartment entrance opens directly into the living room.
The 20m² (approx. 215 sq. ft.) living room has two French double-glazed windows with western exposure overlooking the street. It is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, an armchair, a coffee table, built-in bookshelves and a built-in closet with a TV. This room opens into a 10m² (approx. 105 sq. ft.) terrace furnished with two long armchairs and a small coffee table.
The living room has a staircase leading to the mezzanine bedroom with a 1.20m ceiling height. It is furnished with a double-size mattress on the floor, a small console and some built-in bookshelves. It also has a skylight.
The open kitchen has a double-glazed window overlooking the terrace. It is equipped with two vitro ceramic burners, a combo microwave/oven, a kettle, a coffee maker and a refrigerator.
The bathroom has a shower topped by a large showerhead, a washbasin and a toilette. (Note: The toilet is electric. Due to the European plumbing system in the building, the water closet cannot handle any items other than human waste and toilet paper. All other objects no matter how small - i.e., Q-tips, paper, hair, etc. -- will clog up the drainage system. This could result in damage to the WC.)
Heat and hot water are both electric.
The nearest metro station is Filles du Calvaire (line 8).
