Bed & Breakfast on the edge of Saint-Rémy de Provence - Quartier des Jardins

The authentic Mas offering only one guest room is located in the southern part of Saint-Rémy, in the area called Quartiers de Jardins. The guest room is located on the 2nd French floor i.e. 3rd floor (walk-up). There is a well-maintained garden, and a parking space for a car. The property is enclosed and has a gate with automatic opening. The "Guest Room" ---------------------- The large Provencal-style Guest room of approximately 35 sqm is furnished with Antique pieces of furniture: double size bed with nightstands, armoire, chairs, and desk. There is a large built-in closet. The bedroom has a beautiful sloping ceiling with exposed beams and is equipped with Air-Conditioning, which is a great amenity in such a location. Two windows overlook the garden, with due south exposure. There is a TV. The en-suite bathroom has a washbasin with mirror, a bathtub / shower and a north exposed window. Toilet is separated. Breakfast is either served inside, in the living room, or on the front terrace that is shaded by a pergola. The property is located near the famous village of Saint-Rémy de Provence, just by the mountain range called 'Alpilles'. Within their surroundings, the Alpilles chain of mountains forms both a striking and a harmonious picture. It is also the landscape of famous painters such as Van Gogh, Cézanne and Matisse who came here to capture the extraordinary light and color of the region. It is also a rich agricultural area with rolling plains of fruit orchards, olives groves and all variety of Mediterranean vegetables. It is alive with the sound of chirping 'cigales' and the intoxicating aromas of multitude of wild herbs. The local market of Saint-Rémy is on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the main street going all around the village. This area is the 'Provence of the Rhone' and has a strong Roman heritage. The famous ruins of Glanum are nearby: an archeological site from the first century BC. The closest highway is the A7, exit Cavaillon, 20 minutes drive away, that goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. The closest train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes! The closest airport is Avignon as well with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
