Luxury One bedroom apartment in a Medieval Castle in Provence

Located in the heart of Provence, in Saint André this charming accommodation sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. Set on the ground floor of the Chateau, you access the apartment via a south exposed terrace overlooking the water of the Lac de Castillon. You enter the apartment through ancient vaulted living room, furnished with two convertible sofa beds (pull out bed) a coffee table comfortable armchairs. There is a satellite TV and Hifi Stereo. Next the large separate Provence style kitchen equipped with 4 vitro ceramic hot plates, stove, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, a refrigerator and freezer and a washing machine (and dryer). There is a round dining table. Off the kitchen is the bedroom with a queen size bed and an armoire.There is a window overlooking the mountains. The en-suite bathroom has a double washbasin, large tub, separate stall shower and toilet. Outside : ========= You will enjoy the Large 14m x 7m shared pool, pool loungers, BBQ, various terraces and the garden. The castle was erected during the 12th century to defend the Verdon Valley against invaders. The Chateau, renovated in 2005 with the help of many local and the Chateau can be rented in its entirety for large parties up to eighteen, or separately as individual apartments. Eleven acres of land surround the castle, nestled on a beautiful hill overlooking the lake of Castillon. Situated at the heart of the Geological Park of Haute Provence, a UNESCO recognized European GeoPark, the property is teeming with fossils and historical artifacts. The castle is situated just 2km from the village of Saint André les Alpes, right in the heart of the Verdon canyons and lakes. Incredible crisp sunlight and authentic Provence atmosphere guaranteed. All amenities are available: restaurants, ATM machine, gas stations, cafes, supermarkets, doctor and pharmacy to name a few. Area renowned for adrenalin sports, Saint André boasts not only it's own paragliding school where international competitions have taken place, but also white water rafting, mountain climbing, hiking, horse riding, abseiling, trial biking quad bikes, and bungee jumping. Facing the castle, is the beach of Saint Andre just on the lake, with all the usual water sports you can expect. There are also lots of activities for our younger guests: paddle boats, mini golf, even tennis courts. For the history lovers, the two renowned historical villages of Castellane and Entrevaux are within a radius of 30 miles. Drive further south 60 miles down the road to Grasse, perfume capital of France. Some of the lavender fields of Saint Andre end up here. Beyond Grasse is the French Riviera, Nice, Cannes, Monaco, within 80 miles of the castle.
