The owner was very helpful and friendly [... The vacation rental] is a couple of km from Aix en Provence center. There is a bus stop within 100 meters with frequent buses into Aix en Provence. The apartment is on the second (third US) floor with an elevator. There is also a parking space. We liked the pleasant location which is generally quiet and without traffic noise since the vacation rental is on a side away from major streets. There is a school near the building but that is quiet when the school day is over. Just up a hill a few hundred meters is a small shopping area with food, bread and meat stores, a post office and nice farmer's market a few days each week. The apartment has one bedroom with the possibility of using the living room for more people. One bath with a shower and another with toilet and sink in the European fashion. There is a balcony with plenty of room for a table and a couple of chairs which we used almost every evening to either eat or have a drink. There is a fairly good restaurant across the street and we ate there when we had been out all day and did not want to go into Aix or make something at the apartment.
We stayed in the apartment for three weeks and were very pleased with the space the the location. The owner was delightful and we had nice conversations with him while we were there. The apartment had belonged to his father who had passed away so the place was meaningful to him and deserved respect. We are an older couple so I believe he thought we would not be too hard on the property.
