The apartment is in a tremendous location with easy access to the South Bank and within walking distance of the the City, the Strand and Theatre districts. Ample bus and rail links mean that all parts of London are economically accessible. The apartment is comfortable and well-maintained. The apartment overlooks the Thames which is a busy working river. The South Bank area with its theatres, eateries, museums and shops is a bustling tourist zone - seldom quiet but endlessly invigorating!

In total, this was a great place to stay. The owner is very friendly and very accommodating. The location is excellent with proximately to almost everything you'd want to do in and around London. The areas that I have just some minor issues with are the dishes were dirty upon arriving at the apt. I had to re-clean most of them. Could have just been a one time thing.

The building is older construction. Thus, the windows are not at all sound proof, nor to they do an adequate job of blocking out exterior noises. This apartment is directly above the river walk where there is a lot of boat and pedestrian traffic that can be considered noisy. In the evening, there are often people coming home from bars and clubs that congregate in a passthrough between the street and the river. They tend to make a lot of noise between the hours of 11pm and 2am. This is obviously out of the control of the owner but merely an alert to anyone who is sensitive to outside noise elements. London is a busy city and is going to be noisy in general. Personally, I didn't mind this too much but there were times when I was woken up at night. A modern window upgrade would certainly reduce the amount of street noise that is heard.

All in all, I loved this apartment. It served it's purposes 100%. I would definitely stay here again if needed. The owner was great and was always quick to respond to my questions and concerns.

Hi there Mike and thanks for the nice review, Sorry about the plates and I would put that down to the lack of attention over many months due to COVID. As you know I live in RSA and have just returned from London and ensured that all plates and cupboards are now superclean.THE Noise along the embankment can be noisy at times but then you are in the heart of London. We enjoyed having you stay and look forward to you returning .i will look into installing American shutters in the bedroom as I have in the lounge which will reduce the noise impact.
regards

the apartment has a amazing view. It is a wonderful place to stay just to watch the Thames . Many nice walks along the river and places to run. There is a also a gym accross the street. The rooms are large and well equipped. The kitchen and bathroom is also perfect. I really recommend this place. The building is quiet, but as it is overlooking the promenage along the thames, some evening noise can be observed in the summer evening but that is just people talking not cars. and it usually stops around 11 PM and the street is super quiet in the morning with just a few people running or walking to work.
I would just mention that the heat is sometimes a bit mysterious to set but that may have been me and that is only in the living room and bathroom, not in other rooms. Steve who manages the place came to help me in the winter and that was fine after.
The apartment decoration is very nice, the beds are comfortable, there is plenty of room if you stay with a friend or a child, it is also a perfect place to work from home with good internet connection.

The view is very beautiful. The only problem is heating which is very hard to adjust, otherwise everything's perfect.

Hi Cecile
Thanks for the lovely review. It was a pleasure having you and your son at Rivercourt and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.
I will get Steve to take a look at the heating and see if he can make it more user friendly.
Warm regards
Janis

My stay in the apartment was an excellent experience. Tastefully decorated and exceedingly comfortable, it has everything necessary to make it one's " home away from home". The location is convenient to public transportation, but many of London's most iconic sights and museums are certainly within walking distance. The view of the Thames was undoubtedly my favorite aspect of this flat.

The location was the best feature; it was in the center of Southbank right above the river.
I liked the big windows throughout the flat which made it very bright and open
However, the flat was quite old. In particular, the bathrooms were old and some fixtures in them were broken and made of cheap materials like plastic rather than stone or ceramic.
With aging, the plastic surfaces became unappealing.
The carpet on the floor throughout the flat was also quite old and worn out. Many of wooden columns are disintegrating at the bottom close to the carpet.
The flat also had odor of sewage sometimes when the weather was rainy.
Throughout my stay from Jan. to April, I had to deal with the problems of moths flying all over and "silver fish" (insects on the kitchen floor).
