Discover the French capital from this one bedroom apartment close to some of the most iconic monuments in Paris and one of the most beautiful avenues in the world: the Champs Élysées! Combining a great location in the diverse, trendy and upscale 8th arrondissement of Paris with the charm of the Haussmannian architecture, this one bedroom apartment is located on the 3rd floor (considered the 4th by Americans) of a building equipped with digicode and visiophone.
Though renovated in 2011, this apartment has kept the charm of the Hausmannian style with its elegant wooden floor, high ceilings, mouldings, and large French windows. The white walls brighten the space and are balanced by accent pieces such as the red chairs and rug in the living room, the art-deco table, 18th century mirrors and modern artwork displayed throughout the apartment. The living room is furnished with a sofa-bed and has a TV with cable. The warm décor of the bedroom with its canopy bed, large mirror and rocking chair create a restful and romantic sleeping space. The fully equipped kitchen is tiled and has two hot plates, a microwave, as well as a coffee machine and kettle, perfect for a quick breakfast. There is also the convenience of a washing machine and dryer. The bathroom has a large shower and sink and the toilet is separate. This apartment has the great advantage of having windows in every room!
Whether you are in Paris to visit and want to be close to the tourist attractions or for a longer stay and need basic daily commodities, this neighborhood has it all! Rue de Monceau and Boulevard Haussmann both have a large variety of cafés and restaurants to choose from. In addition, here is a non-exhaustive list of places of interest in the area:
- Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe: Walk down Rue Monceau and rue Washington for 700 meters (0.43 miles) and find the Champs-Elysées and its chic boutiques and restaurants. At the intersection with Rue de la Boétie you will find a supermarket open until 12 am. At the end of the avenue you can see the greatest arch in history, the Arc de Triomphe! Walk up the 234 stairs to the top of the arch for wonderful views of La Défense, the Champs-Elysées and the Sacré-Coeur.
- Museum Nissim de Camondo: this museum situated 600 north (0.37 miles) on Rue Monceau is housed in a sumptuous mansion where the rich Parisian Moïse de Camondo lived in the 19th century. It displays 18th-century furniture, tapestries, porcelain and other d’arts collected by his family.
- Boulevard Haussmann: those with an interest in architecture will love walking along this boulevard and admire the outstanding and prestigious Haussmann buildings and from the 19th century, that have fashioned the way Paris looks today. Make a stop at the Museum Jacquemart-André: a mansion built at the end of the 19th century in Haussmann’s redesigned Paris, where visitors can explore rooms decorated and furnished in the period style. Continue walking along this Boulevard to the West and you will find the famous Printemps and Galleries Lafayettes department stores. The streets along the Boulevard are lined with many other shops such as Zara, Benetton or Uniqlo.
- Monceau Park: known as one of the most attractive parks in Paris and located 400 meters north (0.24 miles), it provides a quiet resting place away from the busy city. Enjoy your lunch here, relax or take a stroll along its pretty flower gardens.
You will also love this apartment for its easy access to several subway lines that will take you almost anywhere in Paris. The M2 at Courcelles, the M1 at George V and the 9 and 13 at Miromesnil all cross the city from East to West passed the city center as well as many other attractions. For additional lines, take the M13 for one stop to Gare Saint Lazare where you can transfer to 3 other lines as well as high speed trains to other regions of France.
