Paris' 2nd arrondissement is located just to the north of the 1st arrondissement and is the smallest of all divisions. The 2nd arrondissement is a major business center as well as home of the Paris Stock Market, the Bourse. Also, the area north of Les Halles along Rue Montorgueil is famous for its diverse food markets, restaurants and cafes. The 2nd arrondissement is tiny but still offers many vacation rentals and with its central location near many of the cities attractions, the neighborhood is popular for vacation rentals.
The 2nd arrondissement is home to several commercial arcades that were built in the 19th century to protect shoppers from the elements while shopping. They include the famous Passage des Panoramas as well almost a dozen other shopping areas. These arcades in the 2nd are the last shopping areas of this type in Paris to remain.
Other important attractions in the 2nd arrondissement include the Opéra - Comique, a historic part of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and several Théâtres dedicated to opera or stage performance.
The 2nd arrondissement is centrally located in Paris and benefits from easy access to major tourist sites. Vacation rentals in the 2nd arrondissement are typical in Parisian style, generally in Haussmann style buildings as well as some older apartments.
