On the whole a very bad experience.Building under renovation, very uncomfortable. Several hours without water. Toilet room flooded. Dusty interior. Noisy. Very basic. Tiny.

We took good note of your comment. We are very concerned about the inconveniences you experienced during your stay.

Indeed, during your stay, the common areas of the building were being renovated and neither the manager of the apartment nor myself were informed about these works, which caused too much noise, water supply cut-off and dusk. Since then, we took the necessary measures in order to be informed in advance about this kind of work in the building and to warn our guests when needed.

Lastly, we are sorry that the apartment seemed tiny and classic, but we always do our best to make it the most comfortable. Keep in mind that this 47 square meters apartment is located in a historic 1930 building, which forces us to make some concessions.

It was a beautiful building, a beautiful location (except that a long stretch or the street was in a marked slant uphill, which required quite some effort every day. The apartment was very much like the photos showed, except that the furniture was not only old but too used up, including the table and chairs, the bed and a few added pieces that did not belong to such a nice place. The curtains at both large (traditional) windows were beautiful and very practical. The bathroom was large and useful, but the washbasin piece of furniture was too large and impractical, and that made the space for the toilet quite tiny. The shower consisted only of a hand-held device, attached to the wall very low, not as is normal, meaning that it could be placed above head. There was no shower curtain.

The kitchen was a nightmare: There was room for only one person, but only being SIDEWAYS. The lights were not working, and what was available was a very small lamp under the cabinets, and a night-table lamp on the other end of the kitchen. The appliances were very good, the dishes, cutlery and all supplements were provided very well. The giant-sized TV HD was wonderful (when it worked). I had some trouble with the two tele-commands, which made me lose two-days worth of TV, until it was fixed by the apartment manager, who had to come personally. She was always very helpful, professional and efficient. The radio worked perfectly.

My overall experience was satisfactory, but the decor, and overused (not just old) furniture, detracted somewhat from could have been an excellent impression.

The apartment has been entirely renovated and the space fully redesigned. The kitchen has been moved and refurbished as new. The bathroom has also been entirely revamped and a shower screen has been installed. All the furniture, bathroom appliances, lights, parquet floor and paintwork have been redone. The household linen has been replaced. The issue encountered with the remote control was just a problem with the batteries that were dislodged.

The location of the apartment is fabulous. The apartment itself is very basic but very clean. The furniture is tired. With very little effort and expense the apartment would be great.

The person we dealt with was very reliable. She responded to my emails, met us at the apartment as agreed upon and explained everything to us.

Thank you for your review, it is very useful to better gauge our guests' satisfaction during their stay.

We chose to keep period furniture rather than put modern furniture. The downside with this kind of furniture is that it can look worn but we believe it gives the apartment some flair.

Besides, we make sure the apartment is repainted at least every other year and the all the linens are replaced every year.

I enjoyed my stay at rue Balzac tremendously. While it happened to be only two blocks from my office, it is in the perfect location being in the center of the city and being so convenient several Metro lines that could take you to any other part of Paris you might way to see.

The apartment had everything you needed for this to be your home away from home.
