This was my daughter's sweet 16 birthday present. We spent a month exploring Europe, but she really wanted to spend more time in Paris. We had an amazing experience. I had read reviews about the apartment being off the beaten path - but it was really only a block from bakeries and other shops. There were two metro stations less than a 5 minute walk - the location was perfect. The apartment was beautiful- and spacious enough for three of us. The owner , Valerie, was awesome too, we missed our train and I was unable to contact her due to internet issues....I was able to reach her by cell phone and she had arranged for her friend to meet us at the apartment and get us settled. Would rent the apartment again in a heart beat . Service and follow up to ensure everything was okay during our stay was beyond what I expected. It was definitely the highlight of our time in Europe.

The apartment and the building were extraordinarily clean. The street, however, cannot be described with the same words. The owner was very helpful. She was there when we arrived and arranged a taxi when we left. The apartment has a comfortable bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The area had stores and restaurants within easy walking distance

What was lacking for us in the apartment was a comfortable place to sit and read. The small living room did not have the type of seating that we find comfortable.

Thank you for your message Ira. Regarding the living room furniture, there isn't much space for an armchair, however I bought a new sofa last March that I find very comfortable. Besides, I made a note of your remark regarding the cleanliness of rue Calmels extension.

I constantly fight with Paris city council and the 18th arrondissement councillor to get things changed. Let's hope the next elections in Paris will bring a change, which is eagerly awaited by Parisians.

Yet to this day, except going and voting for a new mayor next March, I'm really helpless!

Wishing you a great day,

All the best,
Valerie

Staying at this lovely apartment made our visit to Paris feel like we were participating in the Parisian lifestyle. The ambiance of the area and the amazing location provided us with an experience that we will always cherish.

Our hostess was extremely helpful with tips on all the local flavors and sites. This was an absolutely amazing trip from A - Z.

Thank you New York Habitat for your professional service.

Thanks to you, Elaine, for this nice message. My priority will indeed have been to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I'm starting to know my neighborhood well, so I can share the best tips regarding fine food...and it's true that I myself enjoy my street's peace and quiet, which is invaluable in a city like Paris.

Wishing you a safe trip back, kind regards,

Valerie

I am thrilled to give this apt 2 thumbs way up! It is spotless and efficient. Our Landlady was welcoming, helpful and very gracious. We cooked only twice, but found all that we needed. We slept soundly on the bed and new sofa-sleeper! One thought: consider placing a chair in the bedroom?

This apt is good for when you need a little alone time from each other. Due to the layout we could each enjoy peace and quiet separately in a relatively small space.

The apt is safe and secure, behind gate, building and apartment doors. The huge windows in the bedroom and living room slide open to fresh air and view of the street. The apt is on a quiet street one block from a busy street, the best of both worlds.

The location was perfect for us, we conveniently used the subway and bus systems to see all of Paris. Thank you for a great week in Paris!

Dear Karen,

I am very happy to read your message and to hear you enjoyed your week here. Making my guests comfortable is a priority for every single guest who comes to stay. I love my apartment, my neighborhood and my street as they have the advantage of being quiet as well as close to all must-see places in Paris.

And on top of that, you were very lucky with the weather... No rain, sunny and fairly warm! which wasn't the case these last few weeks.

I wish you a great summertime.

We enjoyed our stay immensely; all aspects were perfect. For some people who do not know Paris, the location might, at first, be "out of the way." The neighborhood is north of the Sacre Coeur Basilica, and that's what we loved! It is a middle class area of working people with many shops, good restaurants and markets featuring fresh produce and other foods. The METRO is a short walk, about 10 minutes, from the apartment, and we were able to navigate all over the city quite easily.

The owner is wonderful...she provided us with a handbook containing much information to maximize our enjoyment, and we knew she was only a phone call away, if we needed her help...which we did not. She even arranged for a taxi for our early 6AM departure on our last day.

Our Host was very warm and helpful. The apartment was comfortable (except the futon/sofa) and well appointed in IKEA modern. Good kitchen and good grocery and bakery shopping nearby. Our only complaint was the distance from tourist attractions, involving two to three Metro lines with lots of stairs and long connections.

Perhaps the apartment would be more suitable to a younger couple (we are in our 70's). Restaurants in the area were not great, although AU BON COIN, two blocks away served good, basic food and was always crowded. CHANT DES OLIVIERS served interesting fusion food and VILLAGE MICHELE had good Oysters and Escargot.

Hi Dahl,

Indeed, I am aware of the limited comfort of the futon which is why I ordered a much more comfortable new sofa bed that will be delivered early March. The location of the vacation rental is stated in the description but as you know, I give all my guests maps of the bus lines that go to the center of Paris and to the tourist attractions.

Thank you for your nice comments and above all for your email wishing me a merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.

I wish you a lovely year 2013.

The location of the apartment is in a very residential area of Montmartre within a 5 minute walk from the closest Metro (Jules Joffrin). This was key in making it easy to get around Paris.

The apartment is in a new building with good security and elevator. It is on what would be the 3rd floor of a 4 story (in Paris the ground floor is 0, making this 2nd floor).

Coordination with the owner getting into the building was easy and there was a handy guide she provided with restaurant recommendations, Metro maps, things to do and nearby shopping. I enjoyed going to the local Boulangerie bakery for fresh bread every morning and there was a weekend market that had a great selection of fresh cheese, fruits and other French delicacies.

The apartment itself is very clean and well appointed with modern amenities. It sleeps 4 comfortably (2 in bedroom, 2 on futon in living room). With so many neighborhood options for eating (cafes, restaurants, Pizza Hut), there was never a need to do any cooking though there was a complete kitchen.

After a full day of touring Paris, it was nice coming back to a quiet area for sleeping. The street is very quaint and off a main road that leads to the Metro. I highly recommend this place in the 18th district of Paris. It may sound far but is so close to get to all points across Paris.

A Hertz rental car agency is 2 blocks away and we may good use of that to visit Versailles and the chateaux in the Loire valley as this location is very close to the main highway (Peripherique).

Check out was a breeze and the owner even provided a recommendation for a taxi service to take us to the airport. I can't wait to go back again and would rent this place again. I felt like a true Parisian for the week. You will not be disappointed.

With my wife and my two daughters aged 9 and 11, we had a very nice stay in this vacation rental located in Montmartre; the apartment is very clean and newly refurbished in a building that was also refurbished (2nd floor with elevator). One bedroom and an open kitchen that is entirely equipped (we often cooked). Large flat screen TV, DVD player (plenty).

The area is quiet with many stores around for shopping. The subway station is 5 minutes away. Actually, it is a quality accommodation, in the heart of Paris and a nicer owner is nowhere to be found in Paris.

The booking process is simple and hassle free, you can tell you are dealing with professionals! We're going back next year.
