- Panthéon (600m / .4 miles): do not miss this neoclassical-style mausoleum, resting place of noteworthy French thinkers such as Voltaire and Victor Hugo! If you look straight ahead from the plaza you will see the Luxembourg Gardens and even the Eiffel Tower.

- Sorbonne University: located 1 km (0.6 km) away, it is one of Europe's oldest universities and is lined with many cafés and restaurants.
