Description
Room for Rent 2 Bedroom apartment in Upper West Side (NY-14444)
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps

Do you dream of living in an area of Manhattan known for its cultural and artistic residents? Well then, this eclecticly-furnished two-bedroom apartment share in the Upper West Side is just for you! Located on the 5th floor (considered 4th in Europe) of a prewar walk-up building, this room for rent encompasses a creative ambiance. For privacy assurance, a buzzer/intercom system is in place throughout the building.

The private bedroom embraces the vibe of the entire home: welcoming and creative with a world-traveler inspired vibe. A vibrant curtain hangs down from the west-facing window, setting the mood for this quirky living space. The room, spanning 150sqf (13.9sqm), includes a twin-sized bed with fresh sheets, air conditioner, and a desk with a lamp and chair for completing workloads or recreational activities. Scattered about the room, lively with personality, are paintings, mirrors and brightly colored rugs.

The whimsical shared living room shines with colors of red, green, pink, and blue. Two red sofas sit facing a cable flat screen television, and a window gives the apartment southern exposure. Accessories of all kinds decorate the walls and off-beat lamps provide additional lighting. The separate shared kitchen mimics the ambiance of previously discussed rooms, though appears a bit more traditional with the expected appliances. Here you will find a dining table amongst as well for a quick meal. The bathroom is also shared with the roommate and provides a shower, tub, window, and mirror above the sink.

The Upper West Side community is bursting with creativity and beautiful scenery. While it incorporates mostly residential neighborhoods, it is also home to many popular attractions, restaurants, and bars. Listed below are a few suggestions of must-visit places around the apartment.

Apartment Share Rental: 3 months

They told me, my roommate will be in his middle 50s... but he was 80 years old. The guy told me the first day when I arrived, that MY bed has to be left proper everyday like he wants it, if not, he told me, I have to leave and search for another apartment. That was the first day!!!

The old man is sometimes annoying and a total control freak! He act to me like I'm a child! He was always sneaking out my room if everything is ok (for him?!?)... if not, it was the first thing he told me in the evening when I came home. The mattress was a catastrophe! He told me, he likes it clean... but in the kitchen were damn roaches! The apartment is old, dusty and dark!

Oh yes... i was there for 3 1/2 months, i could not cooking because the gas was off and they were unable to restore it!!!

Two good things, nice location and the price is ok for manhattan.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Marc! We have visited the apartment and double-checked all the points you mentioned. With regards to the rules, yes the owner does have rules that prospective guests must agree to before accepting the apartment.

The only window that can be opened in the apartment is in the guest's room, the owner requires that during the day, when the guest is not there, that the door to the guest's room remain open so that the apartment can be ventilated.

Because of this requirement, the owner also requires that you make your bed every day prior to leaving the door open. The requirement to leave the door open and have your bed made is only while you are not in the apartment. We improved our information and now make sure that the guests are aware and agree with those requirements.

The owner would have liked to be told about the mattress, he would have replaced it right away. The mattress is fairly new but the owner will replace it if guests find it uncomfortable. We inspected the kitchen and did not see any roaches.

The exterminator had come recently and will be coming again this month. It is an older apartment but the owner tries to keep everything organized and clean. It is a bit dark because there is not a lot of natural light that comes in. The gas problem has been fixed and the stove top is fully functioning.

We really appreciate your feedback that will sure help us to improve the quality of service we are keen to offer.
