Whether you are a student, professor or working professional, this inviting two bedroom apartment offers a relaxing ambiance with a great location near City College and Columbia University. Found near the intersection of 135th Street and Broadway, just down the street from the 1 train, this apartment is located in Hamilton Heights, part of Uptown Manhattan, on the 4th floor of a walk-up building. There is a buzzer/intercom system for guest entry and deliveries.
The apartment can be rented in one of two ways depending on the season:
1. In its entirety as a private two bedroom sublet.
2. As a shared apartment with a private room for rent, where the middle bedroom (Bedroom 1) is offered as a private accommodation and the living room, kitchen and bathroom are shared with a roommate that occupies Bedroom 2.
Highlights of the apartment include:
The surrounding neighborhood is equally pleasant, with the famous thoroughfare Broadway nearby (perfect for groceries), as well as City College just down the street (1/2 block or about 100m)! Columbia University is only 2 stops away, making Hamilton Heights popular with young people. Just east of the apartment, Amsterdam Avenue offers eateries and delis. There are several parks in the area (St Nicholas Park, Riverbank State Park) and the lovely Hudson River nearby, and for shopping, check out the 125th Street corridor (1 subway stop south), complete with movie theatre and H&M. When family visits, be sure to take them through the Hamilton Heights Historic District, featuring landmark brownstones and national monuments memorializing American figures like Alexander Hamilton and Ulysses S. Grant.
The nearby subway station is convenient for accessing the rest of NYC – just pick up the 1 train at 137th St and Broadway (.2 mi/400m). This train makes local stops, but you can transfer easily to an express train that will take you to downtown Manhattan quickly. Through St Nicholas Park, you can also take the A, B or C trains from the 137th St and St Nicholas Avenue station (.4 mi/650m). Here you can choose between local and express trains, depending on your destination! This 2 bedroom apartment is a great place to call home in NYC.
