Enjoy living like a real Brooklyner in this bed and breakfast rental in Park Slope. The accommodation is in a two-bedroom duplex apartment occupying the first and second floors of a 4-level walk-up townhouse with a shared backyard. The townhouse, dating from the early 20th century, is a historic landmark building, maintained by an artist and in ongoing need of restoration; the part of the house that is rented is comfortable and has charm with high ceilings and antique mouldings, and is found less than half a block from Prospect Park!
This spacious (1000 SQF) duplex apartment has an entire floor for communal living and it is only when you reach the second floor that you can access the bedroom, giving you enough privacy and your own space. The available bedroom is on the 2nd level, with a window facing east towards the building's private backyard garden, away from the street. The room is comfortably furnished with all you need for relaxing, including a refrigerator. Many artistic ornaments compliment the classic interior, which includes a gorgeous decorative fireplace.
Down the hall is the shared bathroom, and downstairs you can watch TV in the living room or enjoy a meal in the dining room. From here you can access the outdoor terrace and garden, green and verdant in the summer.
Please Note: There is a cat in this apartment, cared for by the owner.
The owner, who occupies the second bedroom, is more than happy to provide you with maps, neighborhood tips or recommandations to facilitate your integration into the New York City experience.
Situated on 6th street in Park Slope, this bed and breakfast accommodation is almost next door to Prospect Park, a huge expanse with baseball fields, a butterfly meadow, jogging trails and more. Concerts are held here in the summer, and there is a Farmer's Market every Saturday. You will also have access in just 2 blocks to the main shopping street of this area, 7th Avenue. Here you'll find stores, delis and restaurants, both chains and local enterprises. If you are concerned about making your stay worthwile culturally, you will certainly appreciate the nearby Brooklyn Museum, second biggest art museum in New York City.
The closest train station is 3 blocks away and will give you access to the F and G lines. The F line will take you to Manhattan and other areas of Brooklyn, and the G runs north through the trendy Clinton Hill and Williamsburg neighborhoods to Queens.
