Neighborhood:
Situated between Rue de Sèvres and Rue de Vaugirard, this charming and calm furnished apartment is in the heart of the Saint-Germain Des Prés area and is easy walking distance from Montparnasse. This is a Paris neighborhood celebrated for its elegant, trendy streets and for the stylish fashion shops, traditional mall, antique shops, art galleries, and sophisticated restaurants and cafes. In short distance is the renowned Boulevard Saint Germain, the ravishing Luxembourg Garden, the Seine River, and most of the monuments and points of interest. Also near this accommodation are excellent quality services such as fine bakeries, select supermarkets, and the well-known daily Buci open air market.
Premises:
This 35m² (approx. 375 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of an 18th century walk-up building. The main entrance gate is protected by a security system and there is also a concierge and another coded system in the building.
The apartment faces a calm, historic courtyard and is north oriented. The walls are white and there is a wooden floor almost throughout; the ceilings have exposed beams.
The entry door opens directly onto the living room and the fully equipped open kitchen. The bedroom is to the right of the living room and the bathroom and toilet are to the right of the kitchen.
The 16m² (approx. 170 sq. ft.) living room has a parquet floor and two double-glazed windows with Venetian-style shutters overlooking the courtyard. It is decorated with a dining table and matching chairs, a futon guest bed (140 wide), and shelves.
The open kitchen is tiled and equipped with a microwave/oven combo, a small refrigerator, a freezer, four electric burners topped by a cooker hood, a double sink, a coffee maker, a kettle and toaster as well as all the necessary utensils. There is also a washer/dryer (combo).
The bedroom has a parquet floor and a double-glazed window with rolling shutters facing the courtyard. It is furnished with double bed (160 wide), a desk, a cabinet, shelves, armchairs and lamps. This room is equipped with a phone, a high speed DSL Internet connection and a small cable TV.
The bathroom is all tiled and fitted with a shower, a washbasin topped by a mirror, and a toilette. There is also an electric aeration system. Please note that the toilet is electric and due to the European plumbing system in the building, the water closet cannot handle any items other than human waste and toilet paper. All other objects no matter how small (i.e., Q-tips, paper, hair, etc.) will clog up the drainage system. This could result in damage to the WC.
The apartment is equipped with a vacuum, an iron and an ironing board.
Heat and hot water are electric and individual.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro stations are Sèvres-Babylone (lines 10 and 12), Vaneau (line10), Sainte Placide (line 4) and Duroc (line 10 and 13).
