This studio apartment is located on the ground floor of a well-maintained 6-story (equivalent to the European 5-story) walk-up building in the Quartier Latin (Latin Quarter) of Paris. Built during the 17th century and renovated in 2012, it features a digicode security system at the entrance, as well as a concierge. With southern exposure, it offers views of the charming courtyard.
The unit is bright as its windows allow in plenty of natural light. It's fully furnished and tastefully decorated. The ocher tiled floor matches nicely with the fireplace and neutral tones of the modern furniture pieces. The functional layout of the living room is comprised of a sleeping area-with a double bed, nightstands, desk and chair-a dining area with a table for two, and a seating area with a flat-screen TV, armchairs and glass coffee table. The kitchen is equipped with the basic appliances and utensils. There is an in-built storage closet between the living area and the modern bathroom, which has a washbasin, WC, and stall shower.
Located in the heart of the 5th Arrondissement, on Rue Mouffetard, betw. Rue de l'Arbalete & Rue Jean Calvin, the studio is situated in one of the oldest and liveliest areas of Paris! On the south bank of the Seine, in the Quartier Latin, Rue Mouffetard is home to plenty of cafes, restaurants and open markets, which sell French specialties like fresh baguettes and pastries, unique cheeses, seafood, and fresh produce. This thoroughfare is really popular among Parisians and it's as vibrant during the day as it is at night. Rue Mouffetard is well known by most French people, even those from other regions of the country, given that it's where one of the modern tales by Pierre Gripari, La Sorciere de la Rue Mouffetard (The Mouffetard Street Witch), takes place! The apartment is close to many attractions, among them The Panthéon (1.1 miles / 1.77 km), where prominent French figures are buried, the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Palais du Luxembourg (0.7 miles / 1.12 km). The prestigious Sorbonne University is close by (0.3 miles / 480 meters), near the Jardin des Plantes (Botanical Garden), also site of the Natural History Museum! The nearest subway stations are Censier Daubenton and Place Monge -both on Line 7, and only 820 feet (250 meters) and 0.28 mile (450 meters) away, respectively.
I had a absolutely lovely stay in this Paris studio. It had large windows that opened on the courtyard landscaped with greenery and flowers. The studio has sleek modern decor and al lof the amenities. When you leave the courtyard you enter a wonderful street that has numerous shops, restaurants and cafes from one end to the other.
Dec 31 2012A certain portion of the day there is no traffic allowed and you can promenade to your hearts content. The owner supplied a notebook with wonderful well thought out recommendations of places to visit. I spent 2 and half months there and can't wait to go back.
