Neighborhood: A short distance to the Republic Place and its wide array of entertainment options, the many passageways here lend much charm to this traditional Parisian district. Set out by the Baron Haussmann in 1854, the Republic Place has at its center the Republic statue resting on a bronze base and showing the events of that period's history. The apartment is very close to the famous Place de la Bastille where the new Opera is considered one of the best in the world; it was inaugurated for the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. It is also a short walking distance from the famous Place des Vosges. Premises: This 40m² (approx. 430 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the fourth floor (fifth in the USA) of a 17th century walk-up building with an eastern exposure. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system. It opens onto a "classified" courtyard. On the right is a building gate protected by an intercom. Layout: The entrance door opens into the living room and an open kitchen. To the left is a separate toilet and straight ahead is the bedroom and then the bathroom. The 19m² (approx. 200 sq. ft.) living room has three windows overlooking the courtyard. It is furnished with two sofas, a coffee table, another table, a built-in closet, four stools in front of the bar, two bookshelves and a chest of drawers. The open kitchen is equipped with four electric burners, a washer/dryer, a refrigerator/freezer, a combo microwave-grill oven and a coffee maker. The 10m² (approx. 100 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window overlooking the courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size bed, a desk with a chair, a built-in closet and a bookshelf. The bathroom has a tub with showerhead, a washbasin and a small closet. There is a separate toilet. The nearest metro station is Temple (line 3). Heat and hot water use gas and are individually metered.
