Studio apartment in the heart of the Marais

Neighborhood:
This apartment is located in a very popular area, the Marais. It is one of a number of Parisian neighborhoods that has preserved almost all of its pre-revolutionary architecture.
Close by is the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg, Les Halles Mall, and the well-known pedestrian rue Montorgueil, a residential and commercial street with greengrocers, fishmongers, and lovely restaurants and cafes. A little further is the royal Place des Vosges, the homes of many historic personalities, and a number of unique museums. Also nearby are the Louvre, City Hall, and the Seine River with its enchanting islands.
Premises:
This 41m² (approx. 440 sq. ft.) alcove studio is located on the fifth (sixth in the USA) and last floor of a 1900s walk-up building. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system. Since this apartment is located on the last floor, there are exposed ceiling beams everywhere. The apartment has a southern exposure.
Layout:
The entrance door opens to a flight of stairs leading to the apartment. It is divided into two parts, the bedroom area and the traditional living room with an open kitchen. The bathroom and the separate toilette are accessible through the living room. From the staircase, a French window gives access to the terrace.
The bedroom area is 9m2 (approx. 95 sq. ft.). It is furnished with a double-size bed, a closet and a wardrobe hidden by a curtain. Above the closet and wardrobe, there are recesses that allow extra storage space and there is also an extra single-size mattress. The window overlooks the street.
The traditional living room is 15m² (approx. 161 sq. ft.) and has a window. It is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, a coffee table, a bistro table and built-in shelves. It is equipped with a cable TV, a DVD player and a phone. This room also has an Internet connection.
The open kitchen is equipped with two electric burners, a small refrigerator, a combo grill/microwave oven, a washing machine, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle.
The tiled bathroom has a window, a bathtub and a washbasin.
The separate toilette has also a window.
The terrace has a northern exposure.
The nearest metro station is Réaumur-Sebastopol (line 4,3).
Heat and hot water are electric and are individually metered.
