Neighborhood: This apartment is located in a very popular area, the Marais. It is one of a number of Parisian neighborhoods that has preserved almost all of its pre-revolutionary architecture. Close by is the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg, Les Halles Mall, and the well-known pedestrian rue des Gravilliers, a residential and commercial street with greengrocers, fishmongers, and lovely restaurants and cafes. A little farther away is the royal Place des Vosges, with many residences of historic personalities. Also nearby are the Louvre, City Hall, and the Seine River with its enchanting islands. Premises: This 40m² (approx. 430 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment with a southeastern exposure is located on the second floor (third in the USA) of a 17th century walk-up building. A coded security system protects the main entrance gate. It opens onto a courtyard leading to the building. There is a Wi-Fi Internet connection. Layout: The entrance door opens into the living room and the open kitchen. It leads to the bedroom on the right and to the left is the bathroom with a toilet. The 17m² (approx. 180 sq. ft.) living room has two windows overlooking the courtyard. It is furnished with two double-size sofa beds, a coffee table, two stools, a phone and a console with a cable TV/VCR combo and a combo stereo/DVD player. The open eat-in kitchen is equipped with four vitro ceramic burners, a combo washer/dryer, a refrigerator, a microwave, an oven, a coffee maker and a toaster. The 9m² (approx. 95 sq. ft.) bedroom has two windows overlooking the courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size bed, two bedside tables, a phone, a stereo, a built-in closet and some shelves. The bathroom has a tub with a showerhead, a washbasin and a toilet. The nearest metro station is Arts et Métiers (L3,11). Heat and hot water are both electric and individually metered.
