Neighborhood: Between avenue Daumesnil and rue de Bercy, this furnished apartment is a few steps from the historic Place de la Bastille where the Opera de Paris is located; it is considered one of the best operas in the world and was inaugurated at the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. Within short walking distance is the royal Place des Vosges, the oldest and most beautiful square and the former place of residence of many historic personalities. Built by Henri IV, its perfect symmetry and verticality are fine examples of classical French architecture. This area is also renowned for its museums, art galleries and antique shops. There are all sorts of essential shops and services near this accommodation, including an open market certain days of the week, a gym, and two Internet cafés which can be accessed by a pedestrian walkway leading directly from the building to the subway. Premises: Elegant and comfortable, this 55m² (approx. 590 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the third floor of a walk-up building constructed in the 1900s. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system. The apartment entrance opens into a hall leading to the living room straight ahead, to the kitchen on the left, and to the bathroom on the right. The bedroom is only accessible though the bathroom. The 23m² (approx. 245 sq. ft.) living room has a parquet floor and two double-glazed windows overlooking the courtyard; it has an eastern exposure. It is divided into two parts. The first one is the living room area furnished with a sofa, a coffee table, an armchair, a flat screen TV, a DVD player, a VCR, a computer connected to Internet (a wireless connection is also available), a stereo, a phone and a cupboard. The second part is an alcove dining room furnished with a dining table, five chairs and a bookshelf. The 10m² (approx. 105 sq ft.) bedroom has a parquet floor and a double-glazed window. It has a western exposure and overlooks the street. It is furnished with a double-size bed, a chest of drawers, a closet, a TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is tiled and has a double-glazed window overlooking the courtyard with an eastern exposure. It is equipped with four induction burners, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave, an oven, a kettle and a coffee maker. The bathroom is also tiled and contains a shower, a washbasin, a towel dryer and a built-in closet. It also has a washing machine and a dryer. The toilettes are separate. Heat and hot water use gas. For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Bastille (line 1,5,8).
