Charming Two Bedroom/two bathroom apartment

Location : Two bedroom Triplex with 130 m2 of nothing but charm on the Boulevard du Temple between the Rue des Filles du Calvaires and the Rue de Saintonge. 5th floor of a 'bourgeois' elevator building (classified building dating from 1870). Double security : digital access code for the front door. Intercom for the inside door. Double exposure East-West. Sunlit throughout the whole day. Interior : This apartment belongs to an actrice, producer and painter, and has a feel of a house in the country with wooden beams, parquet and red tiled floors and an oak staircase. First floor : spacious living room of 35 m2 with 3 French doors, opens up to an balcony with flowers, (watered daily by the cleaning lady) western exposure and an unobstructed view. The living room has a fireplace and a very comfortable sofa that belonged to Jacques-Emile Blanche (a famous 19th century painter), two leather club chairs from the 50s, two wing chairs form 1925, two low tables in marble, a piano. The fireplace is placed between two bookcases. Antique lamps from 1925. The floor is French parquet covered with antique area rugs. Lots of paintings from 1900-1925. The atmosphere is very warm. The dining area seats six around a bistro-style table from 1925, with leather chairs form the same period, with a hanging lamp also from 1925. This dining area is in an open American style kitchen separated from the living room by a wooden counter and the entire area together has a surface of 50 m2. On the walls are many paintings from 1900-1925. Lighting with lamps from 1925. The red tiled floor is easy to clean and covered with antique area rugs. There is a small separate toilet in the hallway, which also has paintings. The smaller corridor leads to an office room. This room has a sofa, two 1930 wing chairs, and a beautiful armoire from the Provence. The two French doors open up to a balcony with flowers, where two people can have breakfast or dinner under an umbrella. There is an unobstructed view of the roofs of Paris and, in particular, of the magnificent dome of the Cirque d'Hiver. Here the art is painted by the owner. The red tiled floor is easy to clean and covered with an antique area rug. The lamps are from 1925. The bathroom has a tub with shower and a 1925 marble sink. The paintings on the wall date from 1900-1925 Second floor : an office of 30 m2, accessed by a magnificent solid oak staircase, can be changed into a bedroom. Third floor : a wonderful bedroom, right under the roof, like an eagle's nest, and is accessible by a small oak staircase. It has an original wooden bed from 1900, and a chest of drawers from 1900. The paintings on the wall date from 1900-1925. The parquet floor is covered by an antique area rug. Modern Equipment: Phone/Fax/Copier Machine, Hi Fi Stereo, cable TV, VCR, Microwave. There is ADSL internet access. Cable is included in the rent. Neighborhood : Paris Right Bank, Boulevard du Temple, le Marais, very near the Place des Vosges, and on the corner of the Cirque d'Hiver Bouglione (Monument classified Napoléon III) where various performances take place. Nicely situated, close from Rue de Bretagne and its all kinds of store and from Temple area and its covered markets. Next to the building, there are a French bakery, a café and a post office and also French Bistros where you will enjoy a good quality food. Seine quays are not far away as well as Iles Saint Louis where you could for instance enjoy the view in savoring a dessert of the famous Parisian ice-cream maker. Also closed is Les Halles district and its well known Georges Pompidou center and the new trendy Parisian districts Bastille and Oberkampf. Transportation: the building is across from the subway station Fille du Calvaire (line 8) and also close from Oberkampf (lines 9 and 5). Bus lines are 20 (Bastille-Opéra), 65 (Gare deLyon Butte Montmartre) and 96 (Belleville Saint Germain Montparnasse).
