Neighborhood: Oldest square of Paris, the Royal Place des Vosges' was originally named the Place Royale, which construction between 1605 and 1612 was decided by Henry IV, the king. At the floor level number of harmonious arcades surround the square, all made in red brick and stone facings. The center south and north gateways were respectively the kings and queens pavilions. Here lived many historical personalities such as the world famous novelist, Victor Hugo, at number 6 - now a museum - Maison de Victor Hugo. Many museums, art galleries, selected restaurants, and pleasant cafes are easily found in this area. In a 10 minutes walking distance, is the Bastille Place, symbol of the French Republic, and in a short distance by metro, all other important points of interest. The tiled bathroom has a bathtub, a washbasin, a laundry machine and a dryer, and a toilet. The nearest metro station is Saint Paul (line 1). Heat and hot water use gas and are individually metered.
