Studio apartment in the heart of the Marais, in two steps from the Georges Pompidou Center

Neighborhood: This apartment is located on the same street as the oldest house in Paris (built in 1407) in which the alchemists Nicolas and Pernelle Flamel lived. There is a lovely restaurant on the premises where patrons can dine in the same rooms where these famous alchemists and philanthropists once did. The facade of the building is essentially as it was 600 years ago, but the restaurant inside is much more modern. The apartment is situated near the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg, with its various art galleries. This street is also very close to Les Halles Mall, which means it is about a 10-minute walk to the Louvre and the adjoining Royal Tuileries Garden, as well as to the Seine River with its unique islands, Ile de la Cite and Ile Saint Louis. In addition to the French traditional and international restaurants and cafes, there are all sorts of services and conveniences in the neighborhood. Premises: This 37m² (approx. 395 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the first floor of an 18th century walk-up building. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system and opens into an old entrance hall with tommette tile floors and exposed ceiling beams. This hall leads to a glass door protected by an intercom and leads to the authentic 18th century staircase. The apartment has a parquet floor (except in the bathroom) and an eastern exposure. Layout: The entrance door opens directly into the open kitchen and the living room. To the left of the entrance are the bathroom and the separate toilet. The bedroom is accessible through the living room via a flight of stairs. The 20m² (approx. 215 sq. ft.) living room has three windows opening onto a courtyard with exterior shutters. It is decorated in a contemporary style and is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, a wooden coffee table, an antique style chest of drawers, a stereo, a phone and a square table with chairs. The open kitchen is decorated in a contemporary style. It is separated from the living room by a bar with a stool. It is equipped with two vitro-ceramic burners, a cooker hood, a combo microwave/traditional oven, a small refrigerator, a freezer, a coffee maker, a toaster, a dishwasher and a kettle. The 11m² (approx. 115 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window with exterior shutters that opens onto the courtyard. It is furnished with a queen-size bed, two bedside tables, a built-in closet and some shelves. This room is equipped with a cable TV with a DVD player and a computer connected to the Internet. The designer bathroom is completely tiled. It has a shower, a washbasin, an electric towel dryer and a combo washer/dryer. The toilet is separate. The nearest metro station is Rambuteau (line 11). Heat and hot water are electric and are individually metered.
