Located between Rue de la Roquette and Rue de Charonne, this one bedroom apartment is ideally situated close to the Place de la Bastille. Rue de Lappe is a picturesque, cobblestoned street in the trendy heart of the lively Bastille district. During the day you'll find furniture workshops and art galleries. The area becomes lively (and can be very noisy) in the evenings with its popular restaurants, clubs and bars and Paris' most famous bal-musette (traditional dance hall), the Balajo.

The accommodation is just two blocks away from Place de la Bastille and about 10 minutes to the beautiful Place de Vosges in the Marais. The immediate neighborhood has excellent bakeries, a butcher, a supermarket, a health food supermarket, pharmacies, etc. Two of Paris' best and most famous street markets are very close by, Richard Lenoir and Place d'Aligre. Not very far (two metro stations away) is the more and more trendy Oberkampf neighborhood.

Premises:

This old but charming vacation rental is located on the first floor (second in the USA) of a 1890s walk-up building. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system. This opens into a corridor leading to a second door protected by an intercom. This last door gives access to a nice paved courtyard.

The living room has a double-glazed window that overlooks the lively street. It is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, a sofa, an armchair, a decorative fireplace and some shelves.

The open kitchen is separated from the living room by a bar. It is equipped with four gas burners topped by a cooker hood, an electric oven, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a small refrigerator, a freezer and a coffee maker. The window has a northern exposure with no curtain.

The bedroom has a window overlooking the courtyard with a southern exposure. It is furnished with a double-size bed, a desk, a built-in closet, a cable TV, a DVD player and a VCR. There is also an Internet connection.

The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a small bathtub with a showerhead and, in a recess, the toilet.

The nearest metro station is Bastille (line 1, 5 and 8).

Heat is electric and hot water uses gas.
