Peculiar alcove studio in one of the most selected covered alleys of Paris
|
Neighborhood:
Art, fine dining, and, of course, shopping are Paris' foremost attractions, but one of the most stunning discoveries may be the hidden world of its late 18th century covered alleys and arcades. The entrances to these glass-encased and mosaic-tiled arcades, which artfully snake through city blocks in central Paris, are easy to miss. Of the numerous passages, the Passage de Choiseul offers visitors the most accessible and authentic taste of Paris' arcade life. The stylish fashion house Kenzo and the famous theater Bouffes-Parisiens are located here.
In short walking distance from the apartment are the Opera Garnier and Place Vendôme with its world famous jewelers. Also among the numerous points of interest in this area is the Louvre. In fair walking distance are the Champs Elysées and the sophisticated Avenue Montaigne. There are lots of select restaurants, nice cafes, cinemas, and supermarkets in the area.
Premises:
This 40m² (approx. 430 sq. ft.) alcove studio is protected by a coded security system. This apartment is located on the second floor (third in the USA) of a 19th century walk-up building, which faces the lively passage. The main entrance gate is protected by a security key. This opens directly into the entrance hall leading to the staircase.
The 35m² (approx. 375 sq. ft.) main room has two windows with blinds which overlook the passage with a western exposure. The apartment is decorated in an eclectic style, underlined by the sisal wall-to-wall carpet, the exposed ceiling beams and the vinyl style walls (common in the '70s). It is divided into two parts by the exposed beams. The first one is the living and sleeping area furnished with a queen-size bed, a double-size sofa bed, a coffee table, an armchair, a cabinet with sliding doors, a modern style decorative fireplace, and a console with a TV and DVD player.
The second part is the dining area furnished with a dining table with chairs, bookshelves and the open kitchen. This kitchen is equipped with four vitro-ceramic burners, an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator/freezer, a washing machine, a toaster and a kettle.
The bathroom, accessible via the bedroom, has a shower and a washbasin. The toilette is separate (with a small washbasin), located next to the entrance door.
The nearest metro station is Pyramides (lines 7 and 14).
Heat and hot water are both electric and individually metered.
