Smart studio apartment in the heart of the lively Marais area

Neighborhood:
This apartment is located near the center of Chatelet les Halles, a very lively district just behind the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg. This street is close to Les Halles Mall, which means it is about a 10-minute walk to the Louvre and the adjoining Jardin des Tuileries, Notre Dame and to the Seine with its unique islands -- Ile de la Cite and Ile Saint Louis. In addition to the French traditional and international restaurants and cafes in this neighborhood, there are all sorts of facilities and services.
Premises:
This 25m² (approx. 265 sq. ft.) studio apartment is located on the first floor (second in the USA) of a 19th century building. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded security system and opens into a corridor leading to another door with an intercom. This last door accesses a nice corridor -- with exposed stone walls -- that leads to the elevator. The apartment has a northeastern exposure and is elegantly decorated with exposed ceiling beams and wall-to-wall carpeting.
The entrance door opens directly into the open kitchen and leads to the main room. The bathroom is accessed through this last room.
The 15m² (approx. 160 sq. ft.) main room has two windows with curtains overlooking the paved courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size bed, a wood cabinet, a built-in closet, a round glass dining table with chairs and a console containing a small cable TV, a DVD player and a phone. There is also a high-speed Internet connection (DSL).
The open kitchen can be hidden by two folding screens. It is equipped with two electric burners, a microwave, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, a kettle and a toaster.
The tiled bathroom contains a bathtub, a washbasin and a toilette.
Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered.
The nearest metro stations are Rambuteau (line 11), Hotel de Ville (lines 1 and 11) and Arts et Métiers (lines 3 and 11).
