Modern studio apartment close to the Bastille area
|
Neighborhood:
Halfway between the historic Republic Place and the wide Place de la Nation, this mostly residential street is located a fair walking distance to the legendary Place de la Bastille, providing many different entertainment options such as the new Opera House, cinemas, gorgeous restaurants and pubs, and other trendy and diverse stores. It is also located between rue de la Roquette leading to the rue de Lappe. This is a picturesque, cobblestoned street in the trendy heart of the lively Bastille district. Quiet during the day with furniture workshops and art galleries, it livens on weekend evenings with its popular restaurants and bars and Paris most famous bal-musette (traditional dance hall), the Balajo. The immediate neighborhood has excellent bakeries, a butcher, a supermarket, a health food supermarket, pharmacies, etc.
Two of Paris best and most famous street markets are very close by, Richard Lenoir and Place dAligre. Not very far (two metro stations away) is the trendy Oberkampf neighborhood.
Premises:
This 35m˛ (approx. 375 sq. ft.) studio apartment is located on the fifth floor (sixth in the USA) of a 19th century building, which was totally renovated in 2003 and has one apartment on each floor. The main entrance gate is located on a small street, perpendicular to the Avenue Ledru Rollin, and is protected by a visio-intercom; it opens into a modern corridor leading to the elevator, which has a coded security system. The apartment has triple exposure (north east west) and a wireless high-speed Internet connection.
The 23m˛ (approx. 245 sq. ft.) living room has three double-glazed windows, which can be closed with rolling shutters, overlooking the streets. It has a parquet floor and is decorated in a contemporary style. It is furnished with a double-size bed turned into a sofa, a coffee table, armchairs, a dining table and a console with a small cable TV/DVD player and stereo.
The open kitchen is equipped with two vitro-ceramic burners topped by a cooker hood, a refrigerator/freezer, a combo microwave/traditional oven, a bistro table with two chairs, a small dishwasher, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle. It has also a window and is separated from the living room by a bar.
In the kitchen area, a door leads to the white tiled bathroom. It has a shower, a washbasin, a toilette, a window and an electric towel-drying rack. There is also a built-in closet containing a combo washer/dryer.
Next to the entrance door, there is a built-in closet, which contains an iron, an ironing board and a vacuum cleaner.
Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered.
The nearest metro station is Voltaire (line 9).
