Studio in Marais area
|
Neighborhood:
This furnished apartment is situated in the heart of the trendy Marais area of Paris, just steps from the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center with its variety of art galleries. Just in front of the apartment is the Louis XVI-style Hotel Particulier Hallwyll. It was built in 1766 by Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, one of the most active architects at the end of the Ancient Régime and one of the main creators of the neo-classic style. Many similar buildings were destroyed in the 19th century and this hotel is the only one from that period that still exists. This accommodation is also located near the oldest house in Paris (built in 1407) in which the alchemists Nicolas and Pernelle Flamel lived. It is also close to the Hotel de Ville and a few minutes by subway to the famous Champs Elysées and Notre Dame.
Premises:
This 28m² (approx. 300 sq. ft.) studio is located on the fifth and top floor of a 1638 walk-up building. The entrance gate, protected by a coded security system, opens into a hall where a second door with an intercom opens into another hall leading to the staircase.
The apartment entrance opens into a corridor linking the bathroom, the living room and the open kitchen (where a ladder leads to the mezzanine).
The 22m² (approx. 235 sq. ft.) living room has two windows, one with southern exposure, and the other with southwestern exposure; both overlook a courtyard. The living room is furnished with a double-size sofa bed, a coffee table, a dining table with chairs, a closet , a TV and a console with a stereo.
The open kitchen is separated from the living room by a Provencal style bar. It is equipped with two electric plates topped by a cooker hood, a refrigerator, an oven, a coffee maker and assorted cooking items. There is also a washing machine.
A ladder goes to the mezzanine, which has an 80cm to 130cm high ceiling and a skylight with western exposure overlooking Parisian rooftops. It is furnished with a double-size bed and a lamp.
The separate bathroom has a bathtub, a washbasin and toilettes.
Heat and hot water are both electric.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro stations are Rambuteau (line 11) and Arts et Métiers (line 3 and 11).
