Spacious alcove studio in the heart of Paris

Neighborhood:
This furnished apartment is between Boulevard Saint Germain and Rue Saint Andre des Arts. A narrow busy street situated in one of the most attractive and historic areas of the Left Bank, Saint Germain des Près, it features the oldest restaurant in Paris -- Le Procope (French traditional specialties and excellent fresh seafood, patronized by Voltaire in the 18th century). Not far from this accommodation are the select, open-air market on Rue Buci and the famous cafés, Deux Magots and Café de Flore, both favorite haunts of existentialists and expatriated American literary figures back in the day.
Premises:
Elegant and comfortable, this 65m2 (approx. 695 sq. ft.) alcove studio apartment is located on the fourth floor of a well-maintained building from the 17th century equipped with a narrow elevator and a security system. Warm and bright due to three large double windows and south exposed on the street side, it is mostly furnished with antiques, has light yellow walls and a beautiful herringbone patterned wood floor. Genuine exposed beams cover the 3m high ceiling, giving lots of charm to the entire space.
Upon entering the apartment, there is a corridor leading to the office and to the kitchen on the right, both of which offer access to the living room.
The alluring 35m2 (approx. 375 sq. ft.) living room is enhanced by a Napoleon III style round wooden dining table with modern-design red fabric chairs facing a glass-topped coffee table, a double sofa bed, a decorative fireplace topped by a beautiful large mirror and surrounded with sculpted wooden panels from the 18th century, and an antique dresser. Likewise, there is a built-in closet, a small dressing table, a cable TV, a combo VCR/DVD player, a stereo and a telephone/fax.
In the alcove, divided by large curtains, there is a double bed and a bedside table.
In the office there are two desks, a 19th century armchair, and a computer with Internet access via DSL as well as unlimited calls to the United States and Canada.
The well-equipped separate kitchen contains four vitro ceramic burners, an electric traditional oven, a microwave, a refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, and a variety of utensils in the cupboards.
The bathroom has a bathtub with a showerhead (hydro-massage), two washbasins with mirrors, and a washing machine. The restroom is separate.
Heat and hot water use electricity and are individually metered.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Odéon (line 4, line 10).
