For shoppers, the 300-plus departments of Harrods is just a bit further down Cromwell Road to the east (about 1.6 km/1 mile from this one bedroom London apartment). There’s also Duke of York Square, with boutiques, hair salons, coffee shops, and stores such as Banana Republic and Liz Earle; this Square is about 2 km/1.3 miles away to the southeast. For local flavors, there’s plenty of pubs to choose from, including The Churchill Arms (with tons of Churchill memorabilia, naturally), about 1.9 km/1.2 miles away to the north; there’s also The Britannia, a well-regarded local pub, about 1.1 km/0.7 miles away to the northwest. Also, one of the best restaurants in London (ranked 14th out of 10,000 restaurants in the area) is called Whits, and it is about 1.3 km/0.8 miles to the northwest. On the same block as this one bedroom London apartment, there’s a seafood/steakhouse, a pizzeria, and a burger place as well. Should you wish to further explore London, the Gloucester Road underground (subway) station is just around the corner from your apartment; it’s only 0.3 km/0.2 miles away to the east, just on the other side of the block. Your stay here is close to much of the experience of London!
