1 Bedroom Vacation Rental in South Kensington (LN-450)
1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

Welcome to central London and your next home away from home! From here in South Kensington, you’ll find the convenience of access to transportation options, as well as the pubs, restaurants, and other attractions in the area. The building itself is located on Queensgate between Cromwell Road and Kensington Road, and is in a walk-up, period building and the apartment itself is located on the lower ground floor.

With 45 square meters (approx. 484 square feet) of fully furnished space across a living area, open kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, you’ll find plenty of room for upwards of two guests. The living area is comprised of a sofa, dining table with seating for two, a flat screen TV, and a telephone. Your bedroom has a double-sized bed and has a flat screen TV as well and built-in wardrobes. The bathroom is a full bath, complete with overhead shower and tub. The kitchen, open to the living area, is well-equipped to meet your dining needs should you choose to create your own meals; for your use, there’s an oven, stove, hotplates, microwave, dishwasher, and also a washing machine for your laundry needs.

This location is just near Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park, the entrance to which is only 0.1 km/0.1 miles to the north from this one bedroom apartment. As this is located in the area of the Imperial College, you will find plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants, and other similar things to do in the area; as it is quite a popular area, you will no doubt notice there is always something going on, so the noise level might be slightly higher than normal. However, you will never lack things to do! Museums, including the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and Victoria & Albert Museum are all just around the corner from this one bedroom apartment, about 0.8 km/0.5 miles away to the south. There is plenty of shops and shopping to experience in this area, as well as the upscale shops of Knightsbridge bordering to the east; Harrods, for example, is only 1.4 km/0.9 miles away to the east.

You’ll also have plenty of convenient transportation options, including many bus stops and the London underground (subway) system – the South Kensington station is only 1 km/0.6 miles away to the southeast. Truly your experience here in central London will give you plenty to see, do, and experience as you visit this historic city!

The apartment was extremely pleasant and the owner - whom we did not meet but who was unfailingly courteous in our exchange of e-mails (and in one telephone conversation)- was kind and accommodating. The flat is in an elegant section of London, close to Hyde Park, Imperial College, Royal Albert Hall, the Natural Science, Science, and Victoria and Albert Museums, and a 15-minute walk from the South Kensington Underground Station.

This apartment is excellent. Plenty of room, clean and contains everything you need. A good 10 minute walk to the Tube and 2 minute walk to Kensington Gardens. A beautiful area, close to pubs and restaurants. The landlord was excellent and very accommodating.

very nice in every way and the owners could not have been more gracious. I have three suggestions that would have helped: an extra set of keys to the apartment [we had several times that proved a problem];instructions in the manual or communications, telling how to make a call to the owner's mobile from an American cell phone [drop the 0 after the +44]; last, a personal one, I read in bed at night and missed a bedside lamp. These are not complaints, only suggestions that would have been helpful.

Dear Juliet,
It was lovely to welcome you to our apartment in Queens Gate.
I have read your suggestion of a bedside lamp , in fact i removed it to change the shade so that was unfortunate, sorry!!
You should have contacted us for a spare set of keys , it would have been no problem at all to have dropped an extra set.
We didn t include the dialling codes in our flat manual but its something that i might add in so thank you for your suggestion.
We are delighted that you had a wonderful time.
London is a magical city ..

Everything was perfect, the owner/s were both very kind and helpfull. since in England is often raining, we would suggest a tiny little roof just above the entrance. Thats is all.

Dear Tatiana,

Thank you so much for your very kind review, It has been a very rainy Christmas and New year last year which is quite unusual. The apartment is within a listed building therefore no addition would be allowed. I really do hope that you will visit again as it was the most unusual rainfall.

Best wishes.

Excellent location, easy access to transportation and places to eat and shop. We had a mix up on Pounds vice Euro, but worked that out. If there were a couples of chairs in the living that were confortable and a firmer matress it would have made a difference. Minor thing, but we staied in door more than most I suppose. Security was not an issue and the park was close for evening walks. I would return in the future and recommend to friends. There was a bit of a supprise cleaning fee at the end of our stay that was not mentioned up front.

Overall we thought the apartment was excellent and we would be very happy to stay there again. Taking everything into consideration especially price, location and the charming, helpful owners, I think it deserves a 4.5 star rating.

While we thought the apartment was lovely and so were the hosts, we found it to be extremely noisy. It is a basement apartment located at an intersection between two busy streets, and the fact that there is an outside alcove under street level amplifies the noise of the cars.

We thought that the [London] apartment was decorated beautifully and in a very good location. Good value.
