Please note that the room for rent is separated from the apartment hallway by a folding divider. And if you like to shop, you will find a variety of fashion stores at the Columbus Circle mall, conveniently located half a mile away (800m). The mall also has a Whole Foods Market for grocery shopping. North of Columbus Circle lies one of the main attractions in New York : Central Park. The park offers activities for all tastes and ages, and is the perfect place to relax and escape the fast-paced environment of Midtown West. Bryant Park is also nearby, which has verdant green grass in the summer and a free ice-skating rink in the winter. For your everyday needs, you can turn down either 8th or 8th Avenues, where you will find a Duane Reade pharmacy, Gristedes supermarket and multiple delis.
Commuting to other parts of NYC is very easy: the 59 Street / Broadway : Columbus Circle station is served by the 1, A, B, C and D lines, running express and locally Uptown through the Upper West Side and Harlem and downtown Manhattan, all the way to Brooklyn. The C and E lines at 50 Street / 8 Avenue will take you to great NYC areas such as Chelsea, Greenwich Village and Tribeca. You can also take the N, Q and R trains at the 57 Street / 7 Avenue subway station to commute to Queens, downtown Manhattan via Broadway and Brooklyn. This central location has yellow taxis almost around the clock, so hailing a cab should not be a problem either!
