This one bedroom apartment has the special option of an additional sleeping alcove, great for accommodating larger parties! it is located on the 4th floor (considered 3rd by Europeans) of a walk-up townhouse in a residential street of Harlem, in northern Manhattan.
The living room is furnished with sofas, chairs, coffee table, dining table with chairs, television set with cable channels, DVD, VCR players and stereo. There is also a single-size day bed which has a trundle bed underneath (a second single size bed that can combine with the top mattress to create a king size bed). There is a decorative fireplace as well. The kitchen is open into the living room and fully equipped with appliances and necessary items to cook including an oven, fridge and dishwasher.
The master bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed, dresser and closet. The middle room (Living Room #2) of the apartment can be used as a sleeping alcove and is furnished with a double size bed; this room also features a skylight to allow natural light to brighten the space.
The bathroom is equipped with bath tub with shower, toilet and sink. Towels are provided.
Outside the apartment there are lots of trees and pretty townhouses and brownstones. St. Nicholas Park and the subway station are very close, less than 2 blocks from the apartment! For those with children, the owners would be happy to provide recommendations and tips for child-friendly restaurants, tourist destinations and activities throughout New York City.
Harlem is an historical neighborhood with many attractions, such as the Apollo Theater, the Abissinian Baptist Gospel Church and many other churches where you can attend Sunday morning gospel mass. Also you can experience the tasty soul food in the many restaurants in the area, such as Sylvia's and Red Rooster off of 125th Street and Lenox Avenue. There are many stores and movie theaters to be found on the 116th Street shopping corridor, just 2 subway stops south.
The nearby B and C subway lines run south to lower Manhattan, taking you past the Museum of Natural History, Columbus Circle, Penn Station, Washington Square Park and much more!
