With simple and functional style, this two bedroom apartment is a perfect fit for its trendy Williamsburg location. Six windows allow natural light to filter into every room, giving views from a 3rd floor vantage point (considered the 2nd floor by Europeans). The building is a walk-up brick tenement construction, dating from the early 20th century. There is an intercom system for guests to announce their arrival, and an electronic door latch to allow entry.
There are clean lines throughout the two bedroom space, which has a monochromatic palette in grays and silvers, with bright splashes of color interspersed. The master bedroom is situated at the far end, away from the entrance, and has three shelving units for storage or display. A flat screen TV with cable access is here to provide entertainment. The second bedroom is directly connected (in fact you must walk through the second bedroom to access the master bedroom), and is furnished with a trundle bed, which can convenient pull out to accommodate an additional person. This room is also a good place to get some work done, with a desk and the WiFi Internet that is available throughout. A frosted glass window allows additional light to come in from the living room. The living room itself is set up as a space for meeting with friends or relaxing, furnished with four chairs encircling a coffee table. You can also chat with people in the kitchen, as it is an open space with just a island table in between the cooking and sitting area; this also serves as extra prep space and a place for casual meals. A wide window is next to the countertop, a nice feature for those who are constantly cooking! Finally you have the bathroom, with a modern sink and a bathtub/shower.
Please note that the master bedroom is only accessible by walking through the second bedroom.
Just one subway stop from Manhattan, you'll find this apartment near South 3rd and Havemeyer Streets in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. This area abounds with small restaurants and cafes -- you can hit a new one every day of the week! Within two blocks you have: Traif, with new American "small plates" that are great to share among friends; Nhà Tôi, a tiny spot with fabulous pho and bahn mi; Blue Collar, known for their affordable but delicious burgers, and many more! Plenty of bars provide a great atmosphere for nightlife, and five blocks north on Metropolitan, you have the Knitting Factory, a live music venue that brings entertainers in most nights of the week. This area also has something for families, with the La Guardia playground just two blocks away, and the Berry Playground four blocks to the west. If you walk all the way west, you'll stumble upon the East River, a great opportunity for viewing the awesome Manhattan skyline.
Getting around NYC is made easier with two subway stations and a bus depot nearby. The J and M trains will take you across the Williamsburg Bridge to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and the stop is just 3 blocks away. Here you will also find a bus hub, with many options for getting around Brooklyn and the B39 bus that runs to Manhattan. The G and L trains can be picked up a little further out, at Union Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue, and the L train rides to 14th Street in two stops and the G train goes north-south to Queens or lower Brooklyn. Additionally, this apartment is in a great location for catching cabs to the city, since it is situated near the base of the bridge and you can pop over the river to downtown Manhattan relatively quickly.
