Prime location!

Construction outside on the building was ok to start and then got gradually louder and then they covered my windows and finished sunlight. Got a discount on rent because of the construction though. And heard about it just before signing the lease.

The apartment is facing the street so you get that sort of noise. And then there's construction down the street too like within 100m of the entrance. And the subway is also right there too. You can actually barely hear it at times. That vibration could effect you if you're sensitive.

The neighbors in the building are quiet and there are no bugs or rodents! The hallways are pretty dusty and could use some vacuuming and regular upkeep.

The apartment came furnished and everything was good. Had to clean up any kitchen stuff I wanted to use but they did mop the floor cause I don't wear shoes indoors!

The bathroom doesn't have a window but there's a fan. I shower at night but didn't have any problems. Just turned on the fan!

Oh and there was a slight leak with the toilet and told the landlord and they fixed it within a couple days.

Had a great stay and would recommend! Especially when the construction on the facade is completed!

Thanks Paul for being a great tenant. Will work on improving conditions as you mentioned. Construction will be going on until September.

I loved this apartment. If I wasn't moving out of NYC I would have stayed there for way longer than just three months. The landlord is super friendly and incredibly helpful, the apartment was quiet and very clean (it looks just like the pictures, no weird smells or other weird surprises), and in a great location (walking distance to Prospect Park and restaurants in Park Slope, right next to a B/Q station but also walking distance to the 2/3 and a 10 min walk from Atlantic Ave with 9 subway lines, across the street from a gym, pizza place, and a 24/7 Duane Reade). I'd recommend this apartment ten times out of ten.

I originally signed a one year lease at this apartment and ended up staying a few extra months because I was so happy there. The price is in line with what studios go for in the neighborhood and the street i super quiet and very safe. It's also steps from the Q train which is one of the most reliable in the city. Beyond the basics, I would like to emphasize that if you live here you are becoming a part of a community. The people on Carlton Ave are friendly and have a block party once a year which has a pretty large turnout and is a lot of fun - the police close off the street for it and all of the neighbors come out and set up lawn chairs, grill food, and have live music. The location is also great because it's close to Prospect Park which quickly became my favorite feature of the neighborhood with a 3.25 mile jogging / biking course and it's also a place for gathering with friends to cook out or lie in the grass on a sunny afternoon. The landlord is wonderful, responsive, and is a central figure in the community. I had no issues in the time I spent at the apartment and I cannot recommend the apartment highly enough.
