The apartment occupies the 1st & 2nd floors (considered ground and first floors by Europeans) of the 3 story townhouse and has a southern exposure facing the garden.

The first floor which accesses the garden, is where the shared kitchen and living room are located as well as the owner’s bedroom which has a private bath. The two rooms for rent are located on the 2nd floor. Bedroom #1 has a twin size trundle bed that can be converted into a queen bed. In your room you will also find a closet for storage, a large mirror, a flat screen TV with cable and air conditioner for the summer months. Bedroom 2 features a twin bed, a closet and a TV as well. The 2 rooms for rent will share the 2nd bathroom on the same floor.

The kitchen is open to the living room where there are chairs and a couch to sit and relax and a dining table with seating for four people where you can enjoy a meal at home.

In the milder months you have the added bonus of a lovely large backyard garden where you can spend time relaxing outdoors. A stepping stone path through the grass leads to a covered area where you can sit and enjoy a meal outside.

You will find this three bedroom apartment share at Prospect Place and Saratoga Avenue. You can pick up deli items on Prospect Place or head to nearby restaurants New Peking Chinese or Papa’s Diner for a bite to eat. You can find your drug store/pharmacy needs on Pitkin Avenue. If you’re in the mood to do some shopping head to Fulton Street where you’ll find plenty of local shops to browse. If you’re looking for some exercise besides strolling the city streets, there’s a local swimming pool located at St. John’s Recreation Center or you have the option of NYC’s beaches just a subway commute away.

While you’re living the life of a Brooklynite, take advantage of NYC’s expansive subway system, get yourself an unlimited Metrocard and hop the subway to explore the rest of Brooklyn. Each neighborhood has its own special charm to discover. And when you’re finished getting to know Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens are just a subway ride away.

The value for money is fine but you have to allow an hour with the subway to go to Times Square and a 10 minute walk to get to the subway.

Besides, there's no A/C but fans, which is quite an issue in summertime. On the other hand, the hosts are very friendly and personable. Roaches and mosquitoes are legion in NYC so no panic, but make sure you get a repellent...

We take pride in giving excellent service- cleanness is one of our priorities; in addition, we make sure our home is INSECT FREE and that all of the windows have screens. We live here too. Guests must be mindful that the agreement does not include housekeeping. This summer unfortunately mother nature gave us some extremely hot days which made the temperature unbearable for everyone. We want to offer comfortable accommodation -

Therefore, we installed a ceiling fan and air conditioner in the room. Summer in New York is very lively. People enjoy the outdoor barbecues, music playing; adults and children enjoy having a great time outdoors.

My neighborhood is part of New York's melting pot. We live on a diverse block, one block away from the Downtown Brooklyn police station and it is comparable to Downtown Manhattan. The borough has a lot to offer; we reside approximately 20 minutes from the Barclay's Arena using public transportation.

In New York, most residential locations are walking distance from public transportation. There are buses to the train and if you decide to walk from home, it's less than ten minutes to the train.

This is a great apartment stay because the price and quality ratio is greatly in favor of the customer. As far as NY places go, you really won't find anything this cheap and this good. Being upstairs is a good setup for additional privacy, and your bathroom is just steps away. This is more of a home than an apartment, and the garden is a nice addition. The kitchen is a little small but well-equipped.

Problems were usually addressed promptly. The owners are very reasonable just about everything. They're available to talk and befriend, but if you prefer to be more distanced, I'm sure you're welcome to be like that too.

This is a great place to stay in if you don't particularly care about which area you're going to live in. I worked in Midtown Manhattan, so my C train commute was almost an hour daily. It is a little far. If all you care about is going to Manhattan to work there, and eat there, and otherwise care little about doing things at home, this may not be the place for you. This place is better for someone who wants to take some time to enjoy the comforts provided. If you're the type of person who works long days and eats out, doesn't cook at home, and just goes home to crash, it would be better to find something in a different area closer to Manhattan.

Safety in the area is questionable. It's a pretty poor area with no racial diversity. There isn't much but small grocery stores, with a bigger commercial street just south. I didn't find much to do in the area, and mostly commuted to other places if I wanted to do something interesting. The area is described as "up and coming," though there's still very little of that visible. In a few years, this area could greatly improve.

Overall, I had an enjoyable stay at this location and I highly recommend it, just keep in mind the few things I pointed out to see if this is a good fit for your needs. I was a student interning in Manhattan, and I just wanted a cheap place, and I found just what I was looking for.

Thank you Luke, your review is appreciated . Our goal is to provide good service and to make our guests feel comfortable. The neighborhood is up and coming and is also becoming diverse.

Security is not an issue, we are as secure as residents living in midtown Manhattan.
