This room for rent is located within a 5-story (equivalent to the European 4-story) walk-up building with the convenience of on-site laundry facilities, a 24 hour front desk and a computer room with internet access.
The room for rent is tiled and is simply furnished with a bed, dresser, desk, a sink with vanity mirror and a small refrigerator allowing you to store your food. WiFi internet and air conditioning are also available.
PLEASE NOTE that the bathroom, kitchen, dining and lounge areas are shared with the other tenants. There are three individual bathrooms per floor with sink, shower, toilet, mirror, electric hand dryer and window. The kitchen is equipped with microwaves, stovetop burners and cooking utensils. The lounge area is the perfect place to socialize with the other residents or enjoy some of the cable TV. There you can also find vending machines and couches.
Located at West 85th Street & Amsterdam Avenue, you will be situated close to notable institutions such as the Ivy League Columbia University, Fordham University and the famous Julliard School, all only three subway stops away from these rooms for rent and making this accommodation perfect for students.
The Upper West Side is also one of the greenest spaces in New York! With Central Park to the west and Riverside to the east, there are many places to run, bike, play sports or relax and enjoy the natural beauty of this parks and escape New York intense and sometimes stressful environment. This great neighborhood with its slower pace of life still has its share of entertainment: you are conveniently located right across the street from the main thoroughfare on Broadway, lined with supermarkets, restaurants, bars, bookstores, stores and boutiques. There you can find two of the city's best-known markets, Zabar's and Fairway, 0.3 and 0.6 miles respectively (480 and 960 meters). If you enjoy visiting museum, don't miss the American Museum of Natural History, one of the largest museum in the world and located only 5 blocks west of your studio!
To commute to other parts of New York City, just walk one block north to 86th street and catch the 1 train at the 86 Street / Broadway station. This train runs to lower Manhattan and Brooklyn passed attractions like the Lincoln Center and Times Square. Take it in the opposite direction to visit the historic neighborhood of Harlem! Alternatively you can walk to the 86 Street / Central Park West station and take the B or C train all the way to the southern parts of Brooklyn or the beaches of Far Rockaway!
