Studio, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

Stay in Harlem, the neighborhood long synonymous with being rich in literature, music, arts, and dance. The legacy of its cultural influence is still evident in today’s Harlem from amateur night at the Apollo Theater (0.5mi/750m) where many famous artists first performed to Amy Ruth’s (0.3mi/400m) for arguably the best fried chicken in the 212. It’s an excellent place to stay for easy access to the big-ticket attractions and exposure to an authentic NYC experience.

This room for rent in a two bedroom apartment available sits in a classic townhouse on West 118th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Junior Boulevard. A private entrance to this rental leads you into a very amiable room with soft neutral colors and everything you might need for your stay. A queen sized bed greets you along with a cute table for small meals and a built-in desk. Peaceful green plants and impressionist paintings decorate the apartment for a peaceful escape from the large city. The crisp white, private bathroom is designed with classic subway tile walls and a rainfall showerhead. While there is no kitchen in this apartment, but the owner has furnished the apartment with a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker.

Harlem is an excellent neighborhood to get a true New York City experience. Within blocks are three lovely parks: Morningside Park (0.4mi/650m) which creates the boarder for Columbia University; Marcus Garvey Park (0.3mi/500m); and the world famous Central Park (0.5mi/750m). Being in such close proximity to such an abundance of nature, you might forget that you’re on an island with several other million people. If you’re more of an indoor cat, check out the National Jazz Museum (0.7mi/1.1km) to learn about the groundbreaking music genre and catch an intimate performance. Also make sure to check out the Malcolm Shabazz Market (0.3mi/450m) to haggle with vendors for beautiful pieces of African art, clothes, and trinkets.

The easiest way to get around Manhattan is by subway. You can access the 2/3 line at 116th St / Lenox Avenue (0.2mi/350m) and the B/C lines at 116th / 8 Avenue (0.3mi/500m).

A great room. I spent six months with my girlfriend in this room and I'm totally satisfied with the experience.

The location is perfect. You are in a residential and nice neighborhood, but at the same time, inside Manhattan. 2 and 3 subway lines are just two blocks, so it usually takes no more than 25 minutes to midtown. At the same distance, you have supermarkets, pharmacies, delicious deli stores, and many restaurants. In addition, there is also a movie theater 10 minutes walking, the AMC Magic Jhonson.

The condition, comfort, and amenities were accompanied by an excellent landlord, the sweet and always nice Renee, who was there every time that we need something or some minor problem appeared.

Five stars to the room and 10 stars for Renee. Totally recomended.

I had a great time over the five months I rented that room. The landlady is a very lovely person, who is always willing to help us find the best options around the neighborhood. I highly recommend that room for whoever is looking for a nice, cozy and well located apartment in the Harlem.
